he says he won't, but he doesn't have any health conditions besides being overweight (not a death sentence by any means with modern medicine) and middle of his sixties. I think he expects to be alive and well enough to finish. If health issues do come up before he finishes he very well may have a change of heart. He talks really highly of Joe Abercrombie (spelling?) who is another excellent writer I wouldn't be surprised if he passed it on to him if death was knocking.

I'd like to see the Asian violinist that did the theme song with 15 or so different tracks do RoC too.

I really want to start reading cause the show is so good but don't want to ruin the show
This is the most arse backwards perspective.
The show is good because the book is good, and the show cannot hope to catch all the book is.
You have no idea the number of important details and foreshowing that has been left on the cutting room floor.
And the book boasts some of the best characterizations I've ever read.

I agree, I also really like the Dornishman's Wife & the song that ygritte about the giants. Just wish they weren't so short.

Agreed.

But didn't he say that he refused to have another author finish it and that only HBO could via the show? Sounds like GRRM is being greedy IMO. Maybe us fans are greedy but I think we all want closure to this series in book form though.

I was looking for the link to the article about it an found this

He's refused to give a clearcut release date for TWoW because all of his estimated release dates in the past have been overly optimistic and pissed off a lot of fans in the process. I'm crossing my fingers that it'll be out no later than 2015.

Im hoping for 2014 the problem with Dance was he had a foreward or afterward in Feast that said he cut chapters out in Feast so he was already partial done with Dance and it wouldn't take that long. Then he scrapped the whole thing. That's why there was such an uproar with waiting on the last book. It seems to have calmed this waiting cycle compared to last though

Was hoping we'd see him flip the table over and wreck shop on a few Freys.
Yeah, I would have liked something like this. Non-reader so I was just sitting there shocked watching this episode. But I think it would have been good to see Robb or somebody other than Cat killing somebody...damn.

I was a bit too. I just think Arya wouldn't have really given a shite in the books, or at least wouldn't have protested against it.
I've kind of had a feeling that Arya was gonna learn some killing from the Hound, so I guess you guys are saying Arya is a killing machine in the books then? Not really wanting to know these things though...

They've changed what Arya did in escaping Harrenhall in the show. Most readers are referring to her having killed some people herself in that escape, which is already old news for the show, so you're cool spoiler wise.

she also killed during her escape of King's Landing
