Thanks Hugo. Did they hint at that on the show? Don't remember that if they did

Pretty major one to Varys.

I guess I was trying to think of "spellcaster" types versus those who have innate magical abilities (like being fireproof).

N/m....I kind of remember that. I should have rewatched the first two seasons

Season 2. House of Undying guy who stole dragons stated it.

Yes, especially the part about Thoros being able to BRING PEOPLE BACK TO LIFE
I can't believe it took so long into the non-reader thread for someone to mention that. Being able to bring someone back from death is HUGE and Thoros has done it (quoted from the show) 5-6 times for Beric. I mean... there's magic and then there's MAGIC. To me, this ranks right up there with making shadow-demon babies and it rated only a single post in the other thread.

This was huge, in the books too. Resurrection is a huge deal.
Also, some numbnuts bookreader is calling the theories posted by some non-readers spoilers. Jeez, so much for it being peaceful.
(though much of that has to do with a certain humping fly not being involved yet)

hell..i just got a msg saying to stay out of the non readers thread
. to whoever RA'd, and im guessing yurinetrouble
. I guess this is the thread for me now. you fricking book readers are quick to reaffirm someones theory and make a non-spoiler a spoiler.

I'm glad king count wasn't in this episode, I fricking hate him and wish he would die already. Jaime is making it really hard to hate him, on the other hand. It seems like it should start picking up pretty soon. Seemed like a good set-up show this week

Nope. Not me, jackass. It's not even remotely my style.

The beauty of many of GRRMs characters is that there is good and bad in them. It is never quite black and white (except with Joff). This show was critically important in the setups they put forth.

I'm curious to see if Barristan is going to out Jorah as a spy to Dany.
You could see the emerging of tension between Jorah and Selmy in the last episode, so it's plausible
When they showed the flashback to season 1 when Ned & Robert were debating killing Dany, I figured they were going down this road.

i liked the episode, it definitely didn't drip with awesome like last week but good still.
i have a question about magic: Since all the night's watch ever talks about is freezing up there (and also starving) and that jon snow is probably even further north, how is it then, that two people can get completely naked and smack their genitals together and not freeze?
is this just like a LOST answer, magic cave? deal with it, magic cave!!
but seriously what happened to jamie at the end of his scene was he just beginning to faint or something? i really enjoy the jamie/brienne dynamic right now.
also i've jumped around before about how badasss people are thru the series and who is the most badass, but i think tywin wins. he'd probably give a dragon a stern talking-to and the dragon would probaly set itself on fire.

Cave located by a hot spring.

Jaime is still pretty fricked up and running a hell of a temperature, so the heat made him faint. Jaime really needed a bath though, since it has been well over a year since he's had one.

GreatJohn Umber is the most badass. A dire wolf bit off half his hand and he laughs.

I warned you they were on pins and needles over there. Why I won't even post a
there anymore.
And yeah, that's not yuri's style to RA like that, more likely iluv, FalseProphet, or coco.

im not a book reader though...im trying to figure out what the hell is going on and what's about to happen just like everyone else. I do know about a certain event because some dickwad spoiled it big time last season. didn't even try to hint around it...just came out and said it. but I don't know how or when it is going to happen. im guessing soon gauging by the response my post got
I think everyone figured I was a book reader because I asked a question in the literate thread last night. I should have just googled "stannis daughter face" and I probably would have gotten my answer.
and sorry I blamed you yuri...you called me out a couple of times so I figured it was you.

I see a lot of questions about Shireen's (Stannis's daughter) face.
It's Greyscale
It's Greyscale
quote:
Greyscale is a disease that can leave flesh stiff and dead and the skin cracked and flaking, mottled black and grey and stone-like to the touch. The tongue and lips turn to stone.[1] It generally affects children especially in cold damp climates. The victims are disfigured but could not be touched by the rarer mortal form of the affliction or the grey plague.

Yes and it's pointed out in ACOK that it was one of Cressen's many failures as a maester.
