Ned is promising her something.

No one knows the details.

The promise made is probably the keystone to the whole fricking story.

Link to video would be nice.

Done with my last set of finals ever and can make my triumphant return to the GoT thread. Everyone can breathe a sigh of relief.

Well we don't know. But we all know.

Probably the easiest mystery in the series. I think they are playing it in such a way where TV viewers will be shocked but readers will be like...yeah.

Also I have a theory on a future episode:

There will be entire flashback episodes going back to the War, showing Rhaegar, The Trident, Lyanna, the Sack of Kings Landing. Bran telling the tale in a dream or a meeting with the Crannogman makes the most sense.

But I have to imagine we'll see it at some point, especially with them needing to move things around in the AFFC and DWD stuff and stretching the books out.

I hope it's an entire season. I think it would be awesome.

They won't do a season, and it would be a costly episode potentially.

But they will have to do one at some point, right?

Just an exposition scene about Lyanna wouldn't be enough when the big reveal happens. They need to SHOW the viewers.

They'll definitely need some flash backs for Aegon

If GRRM doesn't finish TWOW by the time we get to DwD on the show, we may get that.....

I've always wanted an episode showing flashbacks to the Rebellion, including Jaime killing the Mad King.

They really should do an episode like that, or show it in a dream that Bran has like someone mentioned. I could totally picture Bran waking up when Lyanna says "promise me..." to Ned and then we'll still be like .

Does GRRM plan on revealing Jon's parentage in TWOW or in the last book?

They do. But I think the Tower of Joy and Lyanna is infinitely more important to one of the major characters, interspersed with the Trident. Would be great.

We're also going to need to get some background on Bloodraven at some point I would think.

I'm sure only he knows. Personally, I hope its in the next book and not the last.

And if Jon Snow is Azor Ahai as many theorize, it makes sense to hear that sooner rather than later.

If they do Robert's Rebellion as a season or two to buffer between Books 6 and 7 when fatties is writing them, who would be the main characters in it? Here would be my list:

Ned Stark
Robert Baratheon
Jon Arryn
Rhaegar Targaryen
Lyanna Stark
Catelyn Tully
Jaime Lannister
Aerys Targaryen
Brandon Stark
Barristan Selmy
Arthur Dayne
Howland Reed
Jon Connington
Stannis Baratheon
Rhaella Targaryen

Anyone I'm missing/overly including?

Also the ending: simultaneous birth of Jon and Dany.

Those would be the main players, but they aren't going to do that.

1-2 episodes, probably one in each of 2 consecutive seasons, at most.

their replies to ned when he asks them why they werent on the trident at kings landing and at storms ends are awesome

that whole scene would be worth a fricking movie
