Are you telling me you don't find nut shots funny? I didn't see it as man-bashing, I saw it as a funny moment.
I'm not big into "Ow My Balls" humor, but if you think that was just supposed to be a funny gag, you're kidding yourself.

Ray's ghost BJ (ghost played by his wife, Donna Dixon, btw) might have been lowbrow, but it was still more sophisticated than a cheap nut shot.

2.2 on Metacritic

Right, because what you say can't change what the movie is.

The Ghostbusters are a group of smart individuals that act irrational, make dumb decisions along their journey and still somehow save the day.

The Ghostbusters in the new film do the same thing.

Of course, if you're going to be that vague, it matches.

Movies that also fit that narrative :

Scooby-Doo
Minions
Austin Powers
Prometheus
Predator
Alien vs. Predator

....should I go on?

Sometimes a gag is a gag. I will concede that the meta jokes are targeted at the critics of the film and were unnecessary.

Ok? Great! I don't care if it's certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes or lowly rated on Metacritic. I enjoyed the film and wanted to give my thoughts on it. Like many things on TD, my thoughts and leanings are going to be in the minority.

That wasn't meant as a reply to you. I was just including it in my post.

Nope, but a timely placed nut shot can be funny in a comedy

Not really. It's sophomoric and pedestrian humor. No wonder you liked this piece of shite movie

Yea, I'm not a fan of "Ow! My Balls!"

The nut shot style of comedy died for me years ago.

The plot is awful, the jokes are stupid, the characters are cliches, the dialogue is just horrible. Every single aspect of this movie sucks. Except the CGI effects, those were pretty good.

My favorite review so far.

I'm repeating what people have said that have watched the movie.

I mean you can do mental gymnastics to rationalize it all you want. Name another movie that you hated so much and caused so much anger, while never seeing it or even contemplating watching it.

How are their direct observations "mental gymnastics"?

I'm taking their word for it, simple as that. They saw the movie, they tell me, I make a decision based on that information. ...this seems to be a common practice for other areas of life as well. ....I had no idea I was making such a complicated action, guess a lot of people do mental gymnastics for a lot of simple things if that's the case.

Just got out of the theater and it was pretty bad. Not really funny and for a movie featuring women in prominent roles, Chris Hemsworth made the movie. He and Leslie Jones were the only two that I did a good job, with Wiig being okay at times.

McCarthy's character was more straight edge and that doesn't work for her. McKinnon's character, while being strangely sexy at times, acted like she was mentally retarded.

Cameos were fun, but this movie shouldn't have been made and it's very forgettable.

It was just OK, nothing too good and nothing too bad. It wasn't as funny as I thought it would be, Chris Hemsworth was probably the funniest character. Jones I thought did a good job but that's about it.

I did like the Cameos though.

Homer: "Hmm...Barney's movie had heart but football in the groin had a football in the groin."

Barney: "Don't cry for me, I'm already dead."

Homer: "wow, I'll never drink another beer again."

("Beer here!")

Homer: "I'll take that!"

I just got done watching, and it was funny as hell. I made the mistake of reading this before I went in, so I was expecting it to be terrible, but it was good. I would highly recommend if anyone wants a laugh. Don't listen to any negative reviews about this movie from this board. It's very clear that they had not seen the movie yet.

Ok, I'm at the Drafthouse, and they're showing mostly trailer reactions to the original trailer, among other things.

A group of clear lesbians as well as a gay couple clearly walked in as well.

I look forward to your review...I wish your ticket had been free though so you wouldn't contribute to the bottom line of this...so-called movie.

So a lot of well respected YouTube movie critics were liars? At least 4 said it was bad and to wait until it hit instant streaming.

Also, at least 3 who saw the movie in this thread said it was bad. ...yet YOUR review is more qualified than theirs? Interesting.
