The random viewer reviews on RT are at 90% positive, so this theory simply doesn't hold up. Even with ample opportunity for angry white people to write negative reviews, only 10% claim they didn't enjoy it.

Saw this Friday. One of the best movies I've seen in awhile. It was actually much creepier then I expected. The female care taker did a hell of a job with her role and I thought was terrifying

I saw it this weekend. While I was not blown away by it, it was a good movie. It's actually kinda impressive considering it's Jordan Peele's directorial debut.
The casting was superb, the dialogue was engaging and the camera works were great (i.e. tight closeups for creepy moments). It was definitely worth seeing.
However, I had a misfortune of seeing the film with an easily impressed audience that clapped and whooped at every damn climax moment incessantly.

Saw it today. Was a good movie. Not overly impressed to say the least. Not worthy of the 99% on RT for sure.

From National Review, they gave the Civil Rights movement similar reviews in the 50s and 60s.

Watched it last night and it's a really, really good movie but it's not going to be a masterpiece like the films you mentioned are
