are you on crack?

he's the worst

The way he exaggerates everything to be 1 billion out of 10 funny/shocking is so cringe-inducing

I watch some of it most every day.

I think personable people that have experience running a panel type show is what I'd look for.

Maybe someone who hosts a news show. Do they have any people on news shows that just host, and don't argue?

A talk show host does most of the same things a game show host does.

People I could stand in the role from sports:

Chris Fowler and Rece Davis both have experience with hosting College Gameday, a show with multiple players they have to keep on cue time, etc. They were never the stars on the show.

Kay Adams does the same thing really well, on The NFL Network morning show Good Morning Football.

It almost has to be someone that will take a back seat to the contestants.

It’ll be a woman or non-white. Or a gay.

Trebek was great because he had experience hosting game shows, including at least one trivia quiz show. But he wasn't some huge household name, so he could let the focus be one the trivia and contestants while shaping the image of the new Jeopardy!.

I hope they don't draft some big celebrity gimmick host, because it would change the nature of the show. Never the less, Alex built it in to a much bigger gig than it was when he got the job, so the producers may feel compelled to find a big name.

I agree with you, but shows don't do this anymore. They're going to get a celebrity.

I'm already expecting the questions to become less arcane.

They just need to "kill" the show. Give trebek the honor of being the last host.

What about a former contestant like Ken Jennings, Austin, or James?

This was exactly my thought. Someone who’s appeared before and we know to have character / knowledgeable about the game.

The truth is this will go the way of The Price is Right in all likelihood. Jeopardy is just not the same without Trebek same as tPiR is not the same without Bob Barker

George is a pompous, arrogant, dwarf, a-hole. Surely producers can or will see that choosing someone like Stephanopoulos is too polarizing. In addition, the further we move away from the 90's, the less relevant George becomes. Working for a former President, and particularly a scum bag like Clinton, will only take you so far in the world, and Stephanopoulos has ridden that horse farther than anyone could have reasonably expected.

I pray it's him.
It would be like watching a school lecture on the life cycle of the slug.
Political hack...news hack...game show host.
