My problem is that Arya was scared to death in that scene, then fast forward and she’s maneuvered through to get to Bran, sneak up on the Night King and dunk from the three point line.
Writers explained that post show. Said when she hit her head she was injured pretty badly and she “reverted” back to the scared little girl.
After talking to Mel she remembered who she truly was, regrouped and kicked arse.

Y’all crying about us nerds, don’t go watch the alt shift x live stream right now.
On a scale of 1 - 1/9, how bad is it?

frick you. Shut the frick up.
This is one of the best episodes the show has ever done. Completely epic.
I come here and see little 13 year old bitches like you complaining.
How about just stop watching, stop commenting, and let the people who enjoy this show revel in it?
Sorry if I’ve come into your safe space. I’m not alone in this, and sorry you’re such a thin skinned pussy. This will be meme worthy terrible in the end of Arya killing the Night King and you’re at best in denial of it.

Parmen thought my critique of NK becoming a plot device was a 10. That show is a 100.

The whole point of this entire story is that the living are the truly dangerous and will continue to be. They can't stop stomping on their own dicks. ding ding ding ding
No clue why people could possibly hold this opinion. 8 seasons of WINTER IS COMING. we must defend the realms of men. Our silly 7 kingdoms, titles, names, blah, wont matter if we dont fight the NK. Jon Snow, Sam, others even since episode 1 were beheaded trying to warn people the NK was the true enemy. The whole point of this entire story is that the living are the truly dangerous and will continue to be is a foolish position to hold.
Cersei wasn’t a relevant threat until like season4. Danny literally paused her war for the iron throne to face the threat of the dead.

Arya Ex Machina. Cool moment, but after so much hype I thought it deserved bigger. And I’m a little tired of the “kill the leader, kill them all” trope.

I thought we’d get more of a supernatural twist—like the dead Starks end up protecting Winterfell—or something
I mean, wow.

Cut the library scene with Arya, which was well done in full of tension, and do the same thing in the snow around the dead to get into position. Put a ticking clock on it with Jon and everyone in desperate trouble in the end.
The writers failed here, in a sense, because they admitted they told the story in the way they did to throw the audience off.
I mean, it was still pretty clear Arya was gonna off the NK just based on Mel’s conversation with her but still - they could have been clearer here.

It's funny that you posted that meme because male fans of arya look exactly like newman IRL

Oh really?
She was the main reason Robert was killed.

read the middle quote from Martin regarding the Scouring of the Shire from LOTR
quote:
NK and co will be wrapped up by Ep 4 at the latest. We will go back to KL to "reset the chess board," and that theory lies in an old quote from Martin about LOTR:
quote:
And the scouring of the Shire—brilliant piece of work, which I didn’t understand when I was 13 years old: “Why is this here? The story’s over?” But every time I read it I understand the brilliance of that segment more and more. All I can say is that’s the kind of tone I will be aiming for. Whether I achieve it or not, that will be up to people like you and my readers to judge.
Our tired and nearly-defeated heroes will defeat the big bad guy, but they'll still have one last job to do: take down Cersei and set the stage for the future.

Absolutely, so use it to build tension to that end. The payoff moment would have been much sweeter.

I understand everybody's frustration but it seems like a lot of people are acting like this was the final episode. There's more time.

I will say I am satisfied that it’s more coming down to Jon vs Dany vs Cersei, but Arya killing the Night King is just awful.

You think she's going to get it done in time, then the NK catches her. Hearts fall, as she was the last hope. Then she drops the dagger and boom.
Feels less of a surprise dunk FTW and actually builds the tension.
i like this, actually.
