Does the nights watch have to return to the wall after the war if they defeat night king?

Or are they free to live life somewhere in the 7 kingdoms and released from their vows?

More important question, who will die? For the twist, who will rise again afterward in the army of the dead?

Obviously Brienne dies, Jamie leads her army and ends up fighting her. Most obvious plot line in modern history

Pretty sure at the end of season 7 they had snow start falling in kings landing as Jamie left to head north

I’d like to state for the record again I’m going with static time theory. Bran sets up a paracausal loop by warging into the Night King at the moment of his creation. Being able to project his consciousness through time is way too important relative to the amount of time that’s been dedicated to it so far.

Come at me haters

Close second place theory for me is that a Stark, either Jon or Bran, will have to take up the mantle and become the new Night King in order to send the army of the dead back to sleep for another thousand years until they are eventually driven mad and the cycle starts again.

Makes sense that he wouldn't risk dying in BoW, but I really can't picture him and the ice dragon just flying on into KL by themselves.

Agree that Bran's description of NK wanting to wipe away all memory of the human race just because, but it makes sense that he'd wanna kill the guy that has seen how every other NK was defeated so far.

Also curious what happens in the crypts. Can't see dead stark bones animating to slaughter a bunch of women and children, but something was obviously set up with all the "safest place to be" talk. Possible secret entrance for NK and thats who Arya is running from? Will we get some background on the importance of the swords or "There must always be a Stark in Winterfell"? I'll hang up and listen.
