Everyone's assuming she had to have snuck in after NK and his dudes get there. She started heading that way before Dany/Jon got into their one on ones. She had time to get to the tree and get in position beforehand.
This guy knows...

Honestly I’m not sure what else they could’ve done besides they “kill the queen and the whole hive dives” trope.. I mean I guess other than wait another episode.
And they didn’t get manhandled. I think they actually did a good job of showing it didn’t matter what they did.. Dothraki, Unsullied, Winterfell as a fort, trenches, dragons, nothing actually stopped their advance. They overwhelmed as the should have.
Am I okay with some ideas being thrown out there about letting them retreat and letting the rest of the world see the dead? Sure, but it would’ve ended the same way.

Book readers have had 2 experiences with white walkers. The only mention of the Night King is an old nan story. I love how people keep thinking this story is all about the white walkers

Ser Jorah Mormant is one of the best characters in the books and show and I really give didn't a shite that he died last night. I blame the excruciatingly long lay off and George RR Martin.

Jorah sucks in the books and show

Jon Snows entire existence is built around the idea of the Others.
There is a massive Wall built because of them, and literally half of the entire lore takes place at said Wall.
Jon Snows entire ASOIAF experience is build around the Others threat to man

As far as they’re concerned the wall is there to keep out wildings

I can’t wait for the epic battle against the Golden Company

Just dropping by to say I enjoyed the episode and all the bitching is ridiculous. That said:

Episode on rewatch wasn't as hard to rewatch as I thought. Turn all the lights off, make sure your computer is at its brightest setting. The music was outstanding throughout.
Confused as to why Jon didn't just get Rhaegal to light the trench. When Mel finally did light the trench it circled all the way to Jon and Rhaegal, meaning Jon could have just lit it from where he was and saved a good 5 minutes of episodic time. Little things

I thought that too, but maybe from where he was he couldn’t see the signal or hear them yelling? Didn’t look like he was at the front entrance

The snow storm basically destroyed their visibility. Dany and Jon were essentially neutered because they couldn't see where they were, hence the scene of Jon crashing into the tree canopy. The snow was so thick, they couldn't see the trench, let alone the signal to light it.

If Bran would have died last night and Melisandre brought him back in Episode 4, would they have titled it... Raisin Bran

You autistic bastards spent 60 pages in here twat waffling over the angle that Arya came at the Night King? Come on now, do y’all need Sports Science to break out the Gigapixel of the Battle of Winterfell and break it all down to the Matrix speed for you?
Buncha winging in this thread. She hit the John Wick on Ice Maul and his crew got dusted Infinity Gauntlet style. The show is called Game of Thrones. It was never just about the Iron Throne. It was never just about the Night King and his squad. If you just want entertainment about who gets a throne/kingdom then watch Black Panther/The Crown. If you just want to see a show about wrecking the undead, go watch The Walking Dead and it’s CSI/NCIS/Law & Order Universe.
I remember when we didn’t have well-written and acted high budget fantasy shows on cable television. Now that we do, people can’t wait to bitch and complain after every moment in each episode. Must be fricking nice

quote:inonow I'm a few pages behind but I hated how they did it. I saw a YouTube video before this episode explaining that she already kill big characters with brown, blue, and green eyes. Walder had brown eyes as did Trant, the waif had blue eyes, and little finger had green eyes.
Who is green eyes then? The other was clearly Walder Frey, but I have no idea which major character with green eyes she’s killed since Season 3.
Another site says the actor that plays walder has green eyes and the guy that plays little finger has blue eyes.
