There are numerous Aegons in the Targ dynasty but only the ones who ascend to the crown are numbered so Aegon is just his name unless he’s crowned. For example Dany was named after another Daenerys in her ancestry but would rule as Daenerys the First because the other was just a princess.
I stand corrected. Still doesn't excuse using the same name for half-brothers.

You think that’s bad? George Foreman named all 5 of his sons George Foreman and one of his daughters Georgita Foreman.

Prince Ragger is the George Foreman of Westeros. Confirmed.

Possible SPoilers
Meh...Targs were overthrown. IMO, This whole concept of Targ primogeniture was made null and void when the mad king was usurped.
Bobby B was made the king of the andals, first men, and lord of the 7 kingdoms. Subsequently, his two "sons" and "widow" have been become kings/queen regent by nature of Baratheon primogeniture and marriage.
Dany was never coming because she was rightful heir. She was coming to reclaim by force.
Jon doesn't have claim just because of his parents name.
Thus...if D & D really want shite to get interesting...legitimize Gendry over the next episode or two. Then...Gendry or if Gendry dies...baby strong seed growing in Arya have claim.

Bobby B won the crown by force. What makes his rule any more legitimate than Danys? Plus his lineage to the throne originated from a bastard.

No it didn’t. He claimed it through his grandmother who was a Targaryen.

quote:Thanks for posting. Has anyone read the Ringer's write up about this song? Its apparently really well done, but it maps out a possible ending that I'm not sure I want to read if it ends up being a spoiler.
HBO released a music video for Florence & The Machine's version of Jenny of Oldstones and it's really good.

Of course I can't say for sure if it will end up being a spoiler since I don't know how the show will end, but there's nothing in it that isn't in the books and it doesn't prophesy anything as much as it possibly foreshadows some difficult decisions that could be ahead.

Oh I see my confusion. The founder of House Baratheon, Orys Baratheon, was the bastard half-brother of King Aegon I Targaryen, but then Lyonel, then Ormund married Rhaelle Targaryen, then Steffon, then Robert.
Still, in response to the post I was responding to, what would make Dany's taking the throne by force any less legitimate than Robert's taking the throne by force?

It wouldn’t.
Honestly I can see there being either no throne (like a republic being established) or the throne will still exist but have far lesser power.

Not a damn thing

Heirs, lineage, rights etc. go out the damn window when someone comes along and just takes what they want.

Looks like she’s in the crypt waiting out the battle. Could be any number of women or children.
