Would Bran have the highest claim to the "King of the North" ?

That's a whole other layer to it too. What happens when Bran comes back as he will have the largest claim to Winterfell as the oldest remaining full-blooded son of Ned Stark.

Unless Bran essentially abdicates as the Three-Eyed Crow, that leaves both Sansa and Jon in a bit of predicament when it comes to Winterfell and ruling the North.

ETA: I think Bran probably doesn't want it at this point and I think Jon would be ok with whatever Bran decides. Sansa on the other hand is another story.

Jon is a man without a country and is being set up the be at least one of the potential messiahs...he will be bigger than any throne and my prediction is that he will die in that effort anyway

Yes since Jon's still a bastard. However Bran probably won't want to be king.

North apparently didn't care about succession but yeah he has a stronger claim than Sansa or Jon

I also think the show is setting up for the end of dynastic monarchies which would make all of this moot. It's not an accident that the iron throne that for so long has been the ultimate goal is now shown as arbitrary and effectively powerless in the long game

I have long thought a similar thing would happen but at this point shouldn't there be a bourgeoisie uprising?

I see the opposite. That once the White Walkers are "dealt with" we could be seeing the creation of one of the greatest houses to ever rule with the Starks and Targaryen's uniting through Jon and Dany. Much like we saw in the War of the Roses with the Yorks and the Tudors (Lancasters) IRL.

What was very interesting to me is Tyrion comparing the Maesters to the elite of Westeros saying he grew up without slaves and was richer than all of them. I think that may have been some foreshadowing as to what she will do - regarding the end of the essentially feudal system (at least i hope this is what happens).

This could still be a great ruling house but without the disadvantage poor getting walked all over.

It took Dany 3 seasons to try to change Mereens culture and I still doubt she successfully did it. Changing westeros political system overnight would be even harder, unless the White Walkers eliminated virtually every major house

i think once everyone gets a look at the army of the dead, and sees that every slain comrade adds another to that army, it won't matter what anyone's last name is

I agree, i'm just hoping those are some of the themes they will explore a bit more (similarity of feudalism to slavery a, Children Creating the whitewalkers, Jamie realizing Cersei has brought everything down - he has said he only cares about her and not anything else though) instead of it just being some battles and dragons and such.

Cold hands couldn't pass under the wall in the book. I assume he touched Sam or Bran at some point leading them around North of the wall and rescuing them.

Neither could Benjen in the series and he definitely touched Bran. Of course the NK is different.

Yall know I have been shipping a Jon/Dany love affair since season 1, so my prediction for this season is that in ep 2, jon gets the raven, davos helps convince everyone its a good idea to team up with her in order to get the dragonglass and in return he will help her take down cersei. He could make the argument that if the walkers arent taken down, there wont be a kingdom for her to rule. By the end of ep2 jon and davos will be on their way to dragonstone. Ep 3, gonna be them landing and jon/dany meet and make a pact. She offers some boats to help them get to the wall at eastwatch and they fill up the boats with dragonglass. She decides her dragons will be helpful for the wights so she goes along. Ep 4, they get to know each other during the trip and start to fall in love but reach eastwatch by the end and its time to battle. Ep 5, major battle, dany rides around scorching wights and jon fights on the ground. But also this is when jon becomes a dragon rider. I think pretty much all of jon's friends will die in this battle, so they retreat, she consoles him, sex happens and they head back to dragonstone. Ep 6, they arrive at dragonstone in time to see euron has attacked her fleet. They both fly around scorching all the boats and killing Euron. Dany is super mad queen pissed and decides to destroy casterly rock. Ep 7, attack at casterly rock with the remains of dany and jon's team. I think jamie will be there and he dies there. The wall comes down and walkers head straight for sansa and co at winterfell. Jon recieves raven the wall has fallen and walkers are now headed towards winterfell. They prepare to make the journey to defend winterfell but dany is still intent on going to kings landing to fight cersei but a monkey wrench is thrown in her plans when she realizes she is pregnant. She goes to fight cersei anyways, cersei stabs her in the stomach and arya comes out of nowhere and slices cercei's throat. Jon is left holding dany in his lap just like he did with his first love. And thats the end of the season.
