But he's been plotting, not just sitting around. He's ready to get the Vale involved and wants as much help as possible. Who better to band the north together than Jon? And how better to do it than this letter?

And its mentioned more than once how winterfell could withstand an invading twice the size that held it.
Ramsay would never stay behind the walls of Winterfell. And that will be his final mistake.

My question is how the hell do Sansa and Baelish meet up in the next episode, geographically makes no sense
Can they go to Howland Reed's house and come across LF and the Vale knights on their way to the Reed's? Is that geographically possible?

Improbable considering Ramsay holds every bit of land between the wildling territory and Greywater Watch.

#1) no body part was with the letter & only pink wax (no seal)
a) The fact that he doesn't send a body part isn't definitive proof. It's not as if when he gives orders he always sends a body part. The spearwives are nothing to Jon, so I don't see why he'd necessarily send it.
b) Could just be a slight oversight in writing by GRRM.
quote:
#2) letter wasn't written in blood
I don't think that anyone would have difficulty getting that for ink.
quote:
#3) " Their heads upon the walls of Winterfell" & "will cut out your bastard' heart" Boltons-they flay. They don't mount heads on walls & do not cut our organs.
Who says they don't mount heads? Didn't Ramsay throw a severed head at Reek once? Sure they flay them first, but I think they mount heads as well. And the "Cut out your bastard heart" is clearly directly targeted at Jon and just a threat.
quote:
#4) Lord of Winterfell, his father is still alive so he would be Lord of the Dreadfort
Simply used to set Jon off. I don't see how this can be used as evidence.
quote:
#5) "black crows" are a wildling term, not used south of the wall
Not necessarily. I'd imagine that "Crows" would still be used in the North.
quote:
#6) Why does he ask Jon for Theon(reek) back? He was Stannis' prisoner. If he smashed Stannis he would have Theon.
Because he's lying about beating Stannis. I'm not saying it's entirely truthful, but he's the man who wrote the letter.

It is geographically possible.
However I don't think LF and Sansa meet up. Lf sees someone else in the wintery forest
Sansa sure as frick isn't going south. She heads west
The preview for ep5 shows I'm wrong.

The preview showed her speaking to him.

KL I am on the fence. I like book-Jaime so much that I don't feel really invested in show-Jaime.
I agree and what really annoys me about it is that the casting is absolutely perfect. Coster-Waldau(?) is Jaime to a tee. D&D just decided to abandon the redemption storyline that really sets the series apart from its rivals.

Maybe we'll get some version of the Davos interaction with Manderly, with Jon substituting for Davos.
Has Manderly been cast? Sometime before the 9th episode would be great for the "North remembers" speech.

Honestly, this may be my biggest problem with the past 2.5 seasons. They have treated Jaime's character poorly. He and Cersei shouldn't be conniving together at this point. He should be telling her to frick off knowing that he's better than her and that she's fricking nuts.

quote:I'm guessing some minor houses, probably the Mormonts because the audience has heard of them, and maybe one or two of Ramsay's "allies." And of course, the Vale.
How many houses will side with Jon and Sansa?
The Ramsay scene was just random and poorly done. Osha shows up. He kills her. The end. Great. I guess he'll throw the skin into Rickon's cell, or maybe Rickon has been dead the whole time. He's just exhausted all of his shock value at this point, and that scene with Osha didn't accomplish much, even if she does get turned into a blanket.

Damn. OK I missed that. How the frick
The sheer amount of mileage that LF and Sansa would have to travel to meet in 1 episode is outrageous. The eyrie and castle black are about as far away as Miami and Alberta

I agree the osha scene was weak. We have already been mislead regarding false hopes of Ramsey's demise last season with the old woman who gets flayed, so this time was entirely predictable. What I tried to read into was if OSHA's actions are indicative of the ulterior motives by Smalljon or if he is truly turning on the Starks.

Totally agreed on Osha. Ramsay is just kinda played out. The only question is whether it was a setup by the Umbers... I'm more and more on the no side of the argument.

FWIW I think Ramsey will die by the end of S6. He is not an end game villain.
Posted on 5/15/16 at 10:35 pm to ladytiger118
Oh yeah I think Ramsay has <5% chance of being alive by the time S6 wraps.
My original hope was that he would do something stupid and get offed by the GNC by like Episode 5 or 6.... That seems unlikely

You'd rather that happen than see the Battle of the Bastards? That seems like it would be the best duel of the series, especially if Jon embraced his Targaryen roots during the battle.
