There hasn't been a direwolf sighting south of the wall in 200 years before the Starks found their direwolves.

That was before. This is now and now we know Arya's wolf has been out in the wild doing who knows what. For all we know she linked up with another dire wolf or a team of normal wolves and they have produced a huge pack of wolves. Wolves that reside in the northern woods. Ramsey never saw Shaggy Dog. He has no clue what he looks like.

But it also confirms that Meera isn't Jon's twin sister (which I always thought was as crackpot of a theory as there is out there).
Maybe not, but I was never fully on board with it anyway. Meera is not mentioned as a bastard and people would have noticed Reed with a new baby without his wife ever having been pregnant.

They did Previously On with Lyanna and I really started to think we would get R +L = J tonight. fricking hell.

Anyway I thought the ToJ was a pretty shitty interpretation. Overall the rest of the episode was pretty good though. Got a good confirmation that Jon's watch has ended. I'm guessing he is going to lead the Wildlings?

Ser Robert Strong is one creepy mother fricker.

I'm still not ready to write it off. Calling him Meera's father doesn't have to mean biological father.

I can imagine a scene where Ramsey uses the dogs to break Rickon. Rickons eyes go white. Alpha dogs eyes go white. Dogs begin to rip Ramsey to shreds. Camera zooms in on white eyed Rickon, Ramsey screaming in the background. Screams stop. White eyed Rickon smiles. Roll credits with the sound of feeding dogs.

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but that sounds lovely!

Yeah, I don't want to nitpick... actually I do, but that scene is one last "frick You" to the Readers. That's the last scene we have that can't be spoiled for us and they deliberately try to shite on it.

First off one of the Kingsguard is missing for no real reason, which non-readers will not notice the difference. What the frick was the point on taking one of the Kingsguards out of the equation aside from to piss us off?

Secondly, it turned into a stupid interrogation from Ned. Ned asks why they weren't there for Rhaegar and where Lyanna is.

Thirdly, no Dawn. And one last frick you, you have Ser Arthur Dayne fighting like Anakin from Attack of the Clones.

I don't know how they could have saw that and thought to themselves "the hardcore fans will be pleased with this". They really should have had it word for damn word here and started off the season with ToJ instead of this BS.

Preach you beautiful bastard.

It really is a frick you to bookreaders and George both. It took more work to change the scene than it did to stay true to the books. It's almost as if they didn't understand the scene or characters within.

For instance, a big line in the books that heavily insinuates R+L=J, is "We swore a vow"..."And now it begins" Meaning their vow to their new king was just beginning.

D&D thought the line "And now it begins" referred to the fight they were about to have

And yet it looked just like Shaggydog, black/dark colored. And Ramsay wouldn't be fooled into thinking a normal wolf head is a direwolf head.

If it does turn out that this is a big ruse, then it is shabby storytelling.

Which in the book Nymeria does lead a pack of wolves. Also I believe the idea is that the wights and white walkers are starting to push wild life south of the wall.

Put me in the camp that it was Shaggydog but I think it was a necessary thing to do to reinforce Ramsey's alliance. If they know what Osha is capable of when it comes to protecting Rickon and the trust Karstark has gained with Ramsey, then that may be enough for the Umbers feel like they could turn him over to Ramsey.

I'm a firm believer that the Great Northern Conspiracy is alive and well. But some big risks have to be taken to make it come full circle.

Unless there's twins in that tower.......

I was hoping for Arya to warg into the cat and stomp the waif. Damn.

I thought the TOJ scene was fine. They had to change the dialogue up for the people that hadn't read the books. Otherwise, they wouldn't have known why they were there.

That's the main hole in the story. Wouldn't the Umbers know about why they were allowed South?? Or have any indication of the White Walkers?
Right. Their choices would be to fight the wildling army and be weakened for the fight against the WW or ally with the wildlings. Both parties would know this is the better plan.

Very true. I didn't like that theory anyways. Glad we got that out of the way because it has definitely been one of the dumbest ideas Readers have had about Jon.

I would have been ok if they added a line from Ned asking about his sister. The "Woe to the usurper if we were" and "Aerys would yet sit the throne, and our false brother would burn in seven hells" lines are so amazing.

Is it just me, or are Ol' Piss fans some of the most miserable cünts on the M/TV boards?

You're the one who was shitting all over TFA, man. I think that's a movie you have to be miserable not to enjoy.

And those details I mentioned, seriously, why the change? Even if you won't admit it, I'm sure every book reader here was disappointed by the changes to the sequences that only we will notice. It's not as if it's much to ask that we get that one damn scene that is beautifully and very purposefully written done right.

It's for this reason that I don't hate the Hobbit films, because every scene he needed to do right was done perfectly. I just ask for the same level of care in that one scene. They've done it before, but it just seems as if D&D think their viewers are illiterate morons to have shot the scene like that.

And as I said, I liked the episode, particularly Arya and Jon's scenes, but this series doesn't get a free fricking pass when it fricks up. Doesn't mean I'm a miserable count when they fricked up a scene. I'm mostly enjoying the season thus far.
