I kind of think they had decided to kill Jon while he was off getting the wildlings and they were just following through on their plan.
I guess the red witch can get some credibility back if she resurrects Jon.

I know these threads are borderline psycho about these things, but Kit Harrington has now confirmed in a few interviews tonight that Jon Snow is dead, and he won't be back on the show next season, as far as he is aware.

My only hope is that Melisandre is at castle black for a reason and that is to bring back Jon. If not frick this shite. Show is desperately low on likable characters already.

I was talking to Dan Weiss and he said Jon is really dead. But George R.R. Martin left open the possibility the character might not be dead in the books. And then that cast salary contract story came out last year and it had your name among those receiving raises for season six and an option on a seventh. So let me ask you: Is Jon really dead?
This is my understanding of it. I had a sit-down with Dan and David, we did the Tony Soprano walk [letting an actor know they’re being whacked]. And they said, “Look, you’re gone, it’s done.” And as far as the salary thing goes, that angered me when that story came out. I don’t know where it came from, but it was inaccurate in many ways. It’s going to put questions into your head and into fans’ heads that things are not what they are. Quite honestly, I have never been told the future of things in this show, but this is the one time I have. They sat me down and said, “This is how it is.” If anything in the future is not like that, then I don’t know about it – it’s only in David and Dan and George’s heads. But I’ve been told I’m dead. I’m dead. I’m not coming back next season. So that’s all I can tell you, really.

I'll burn the books, DVDs, cancel HBO and shite on my World of Ice and Fire book if true.

He's a good actor. I'm sure he could lie to some interviewers.

He may very well be dead for good but do you honestly think he'd admit to not being dead the very night his character is supposedly killed off?
They will start principal photography on season six here in the next 2-3 months. We will know soon enough if he's making a return.

Nobody believes that Snow is dead but... it'd make an interesting counter twist. It'd be the opposite of the red wedding and Ned Stark. A character you don't think is dead but is really dead
I can see the writers proceeding with Dany and Tyrion leading Westeros.
Maybe Snow comes back only for that final battle.
The more I think about it, Jon Snow dying and not coming back maybe the biggest shocking twist.

I'm pretty sure everyone with a contract on Game of Thrones (and any show for that matter) is under a binding NDA that keeps them from talking about the future of the show.
Kit is doing exactly what he has to. He's approaching it as if he is a fan of the show and nothing more. Why would he confirm that he is coming back and ruin a major plot line in the upcoming book?

I agree, Snow is too important. In Hardhome, He shattered the bearded ice man and as he was departing, the head White Walker gave him that deep knowing look.

At this point they are trying too hard to tell everyone he is dead
If he was really dead, why would they confirm is so swiftly and kill some of the conversation during the offseason?
He dost protest too much

All I can say is tonight was a huge letdown. This season was the weakest of the series and tonight was just the icing on the cake. I understand leaving some things open ended for next season. But at the end of tonight's show all I could think was "really, that's it?" I watched all season for it to end like this?!?

He might come back, I just remember "king's blood" being referenced and it seemed they made sure to show a lot of Jons blood soaking the snow... Maybe red witch just uses that somehow instead of actually resurrecting him. Anyone's guess at this point

So Ghost saves Sam from getting beaten by 2 guys but decides to vanish while Jon is getting shanked?
