Not to mention the whole "who is Jon snows parents" was the entire reason they got to do the show in the first place

GRRM- Well. I’m not going to address whether he’s dead or not. But as to why – didn’t you think the text established why they would want to assassinate him?

With the way the show goes, that may well happen.

But back in 2005, screenwriters David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were a pair of untested showrunners who’d fallen in love with George R.R. Martin’s epic series. They pitched themselves to the novelist over a lengthy lunch at Hollywood’s Palm that stretched out into dinner. When they passed his pop quiz — correctly answering “Who is Jon Snow’s mother?”— they won the right to convert the novels into a TV series.

Also, Bolton's force was almost entirely mounted, and were also well fed/rested. Stannis' force did not stand a chance.

It's been known since 2010

I just went back and rewatched Varys' speech to Tyrion about how he became a eunuch, and he really hates magic. It kind of surprises me that he wants Dany on the Iron Throne considering her dragons are obviously a source of magic (according to the Warlocks at Qarth). I'm wondering if Varys actually has something else in mind for her, and is just using Tyrion to get to her.

They just killed the guy who is the only reason they aren't all still fighting each other, and the NW presumably intends to continue this policy. It won't just be the assassins. They're all going to die now.
With the way the show goes, that may well happen.

Word is going to get to the Wildlings about what happened, which may well result in an attack on Castle Black for fear the new Lord Commander would go back on Jon's promise (and, possibly, to avenge the death of the man who saved them).

Good job, Ollie, you little dumbass. You're going to get to meet your mom and dad real soon.

Definitely, but since Aegon hasn't been introduced on the show (at least he hasn't yet), I wonder what route D&D plan on going with him.
ETA: Here is a link to the Varys Tyrion conversation about how Varys became the Eunuch: LINK
I love this scene because it just shows how dedicated Varys can be to something he really wants.

Do the wildlings have their weapons still?

I doubt the wildlings would've given up their weapons. But even if they did, they still outnumber the NW by around 5,000+ to 50 or something. Hell, Wun Wun alone could probably kill most of the NW himself.

And I almost forgot the massive army of the dead on the other side of the wall. So, to recap, wildlings kill NW (in about 14 seconds since there's only 50 of them), no one defends the Wall, army of the dead crashes through the Wall, Westeros fricked.
Yeah, good job, men. It's a damn good thing the NW has a bunch of busted criminals and disgraced lords doing their planning.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but I really feel like THIS is why D&D did not included Lady Stoneheart in the show.
Itt would telegraph what is going to happen with Jon. Many viewers have probably forgotten about Beric/Thoros or haven't made the connection. If a resurrected Cat pops back up, they will sure as shite remember.
It would also be repetitive and give viewers fatigue on people dying and coming back, etc, and it wouldn't have anywhere near the same emotional comeback when he is resurrected.

The entire Ramsay being a badass capable of sneaking into war camps and besting everyone in battle is driving me a little crazy. The bastard grew up in the burbs with his mom and a stinky old psycho. He's certainly crazy and evil, but he's wiping out castle trained knights like he's the damn Sword of the Morning. I guarantee even Ned Stark could easily have defeated him.

I could see most of the Night's Watch being stupid and petty enough to kill Jon since most of them are basically rapist and thieves. But Ser Alliser should know better, especially after the reports of the Walker army. They should've left him out of the mutiny.
