He went because he and Mance had a relationship/mutual respect. So he tried to do it alone and unarmed to avoid more bloodshed and more war.

When they send out a main character to walk out to an enemy consisting of 100,000 wildings and cannibals, alone, with no weapons, with the plan to kill the king, chances are it won't go as planned. I kept thinking all week, what could the surprise be? Who will save the day? What secrets will be revealed? Something has to happened.

I finally came to this conclusion:

I was wrong of course:

What about the big bow that the giant used? He shot an arrow 700 feet up right through a guy's chest with enough force that it blew him back over the wall. Why not tie a few Wildlings to an arrow, have a giant shoot them over the wall, and then they deploy the makeshift parachutes they've fashioned using goat bladders and twine.

Just watched the episode....holy shite.

Pretty cool how "the children" was a common theme in all stories.... Except maybe snows story.

Hated seeing tywin go...I also liked jojen.

Interested to see where Bran's story goes.

again i just dont see how a pure show watcher can assume anything other than JHon being Neds son.....There has been nothing to really hint that his mother has any importance.

Ned made a point to tell Jon he was not a stark but he had his blood....that says to me that neds sister is his mom.

So it would make sense Robert or rhaegar is his dad.

Either you are a simpleton or its just been lost on you that Jon Snow is a lot more important to this story than just being a nights watch guy.

Honestly, to me I still thought he was Ned's bastard then. It wasn't until later that I started thinking...ok who is John's mom and why wont Ned tell him. Then I started thinking maybe he isn't Ned's kid at all.

If anything, Melisandre staring at him in the finale has to say something. She knows when people are important.

There is no doubt Mel knew something....with that big arse fire the lord of light was probably flicking here mean while he told her who Jon was.

so Arya is going to become a shape shifter?

was looking back at this Melisandre chick's interactions with main characters....she didn't pick up Arya at first until Arya confronted her, when she said something telling about Arya'a future

she betrayed trion and she went for the knife to try to kill him...he had no other recourse than to kill her. She would have either killed him or alerted everyone that he was out.

are you asking something more? He didn't plan to kill her, only when he went to kill dad did he find out that she and tywin were a thing.

Thanks. Was her only betrayal to be in bed with the king or there something directly related to Tyrion?
