This damned poster gave me unrealistic expectations for this episode
shite, yeah..that's the first I've seen of that poster, and the episode definitely doesn't live up to that poster. Not even close actually.
That poster doesn't even make sense. First, wrong date. Second, the tree line in relation to the wall is all fricked up. That wasn't a poster for last night's episode.

Yeah that was awesome. From that scene, I also took Jon learning tactics from past fights. Eg. He spits in the face of the Thenn to gain the upper hand which he learned that dirty tactic in his fight against Karl.
Excellent point. I have such a dislike for Snow that I totally missed this.

Not much to see. Just a bunch of bitching about why this episode was good or sucked because people liked/didn't like the battle at the wall being the only storyline featured.

That fire in the background depicts the fire the wildlings started last night. Clearly the artist took certain liberties but that's absolutely supposed to foreshadow last nights episode.

Ser Alliser's speech was badass.

have my fingers crossed that both Snow and Bran are whacked next week.
You're complete opposite of me.
Jon is my favorite character and I'm really interested in where Bran's story is going. I think both are very important and will be around awhile.

So there were some clearing out of some minor characters there.
I think Hound dies next episode.
Was that the chef kicking arse in that one scene?

Clearly the artist didn't coordinate with the show's producers.

It does seem like The Hound and Arya will have to fight someone next episode.

In the mess hall fight scene? Yeah, I think so. Dude had a big arse knife.

Clearly the artist had a better idea of what an army of 100,000 soldiers with mammoths is supposed to look like.
The Giant archer was wicked cool tho. Wasn't expecting that.

Do you really believe that the wildlings are going to win this battle? I could be completely wrong here, but I don't see any way that happens.
Of course not. Something unforeseen will happen and Jon will live. But based on what we know NOW, the Watch has no chance.

Sadly, I think you are right. I have a feeling his neck infection will do him in and that will be very sad for me as he is one of my favorite characters. If the dwarf is whacked as well I will be sick because that would leave me only old man Lannister and Stannis.

Tyrion's speech was awesome.
Here is Ser Alliser (he was a bad man fighting too):

In doakes voice "I'm watching you motherfricker"
Only way he dies is if baelish kills him after the Hound see him with Sansa and goes ape shite...forcing baelish to order his death.
but that would be a lucky guess on your part

The previews from next week appear to have the Hound and Arya fighting someone. Arya did mention that the Hound was moving slower the week before last and I imagine that was some sort of foreshadowing that he is going to die. I hope I am wrong but I would not be surprised if he met his end next week.

I don't even see the reunion, honestly - maybe - if Sansa learns that Arya is actually there, but The Hound is associated with the Lannisters, and they're denying that Sansa is even there - althought the Lords all know now, they're lining up to protect her.
The Hound is pretty tough, but we have this (at least speculated) symmetry of Gregor being poisoned (if confirmed) and Sandor dealing with a major infection.
Assuming they aren't granted entrance, will they bump into Brienne and Pod if they double back?
Posted on 6/9/14 at 12:59 pm to Iona Fan Man
Na man they set him up to either go the Khal Drogo route with that infected bite or for Brienne and him to fight on the road to the Eyre cause that's where her and Pod are heading after talking to Hot Pie.

Hodor checking in here with a few concerns.
1. Does anybody feel like the scythe was dropped prematurely? Maybe they should have waited until there were more men on the wall later in another battle? It looked like there were only a few scaling the wall. Can the scythe be recoiled and used again?
2. What was Slynt's plan hiding in the Pantry with Gilly? Had they lost the battle he would have been killed in the pantry as opposed to the battlefield more than likely. If he were going to run why didn't he head south?
3. Why doesn't the giant who can lift the gate just lift it and let them men through? There appeared to be a few giants. They could rotate in shifts. Poor planning on behalf of the wildlings? *I understand this may be part of a show just being a show.
**The giant arrow is called a scorpio for those who never played stronghold on PC. LINK
