Is it weird that I'm just going to miss Pedro Pascal? I think his portrayal was about as perfect as could be and he did such a great job. I think I like the TV version of the Red Viper better than the book version just because of his ridiculous performance.
PP knocked it out of the freaking park. Aside from PD/Tyrion, the best portrayal of a visualized character from the book, IMO.

I'm assuming, or at least hoping, that her reveal will be the last scene for this season
would make for a great cliffhanger, just like in the books
I'm wondering how will they handle her appearance. Will they go the Tyrion route and make her less disfigured or go all out?
I agree that this will be how they close the season. She didn't claw her face, so she won't be as disfigured as she is in the books.

I agree with this as well. It will appease the Hodors big time (not that there is anything wrong with that). Would be a great ratings decision on HBO's part.
ETA: IMDB does not show Cat being in the series finale but I don't think that means anything.

Exactly. IMDb has messed up episode appearances before. Originally they had Lysa appearing in the finale but it was removed.

I'm not sure that it's a "mess up". I've wondered if the HBO folks intentionally jack up the casting on IMDB to screw with people like us who check ahead for spoilers.

finally figured out the point of the beetle speech.
we the watchers/readers are the beetles and ole george martin just smashes us over and over again with the gut punches. perfect set up for what was about to unfold with Oberyn

That 1st reaction was great.... "So it's a draw?" "It's not a draw he's fricking dead."
Sometimes I wish I was a Hodor.... And then I think about it and no I don't. But still, it would be crazy to watch without knowing the outcomes of things like this.

the sansa storyline from last night/where it's headed was a clear frick you from D&D to GRMM. they don't give a rats arse about passing him up.

Definitely, but I think the changes are necessary; FWIW show Sansa and basically every other character in the books has been aged up for the show (which makes a lot of sense IMO). So obviously a 15/16 year old Sansa/Alayne is going to be more sharp than a 13/14 year old Sansa/Alayne.

their hand was forced to condense storylines or the hodors would just be WTFing for most of the show.

Sansa's Transformation
I like the change. Sansa's/Sophie Turner's performance was excellent IMHO. I also liked they exchange when LF asked her why she helped him. Lysa's suicide story actually seems more credible considering her well know mental state vs blaming a singer who know doubt would have contradicted LF's account.

Since you all know what's going to happen in the next three to five seasons of the show, do you think you could go without reading the final two books (assuming he finishes writing them before the series ends)?
I've been enjoying watching/reading the Hodors' reactions, and I'm a little envious of how every episode is a shock or surprise. I kind of wish I hadn't read the books, especially since they've done such a great job with the show.
