How would this be for the end of WoW: Epilogue with a Stannis POV. Stannis' army is defeated by the Others, but Stannis is taken alive by them. The Others I think may be more linked with magic than any other race (aside from maybe dragons), and they too see the value of King's Blood and they need it. So they put Stannis on an ice altar and Darth Maul does the same to him. An added bonus is Stannis has a lot of knowledge about Westerosi geography, politics, war tactics, and personally knows some of the people he'll be fighting against. Stannis I think will be the next Night's King.

I dunno. I do think his relationship with Melisandre at this point is similar to the relationship that The Night's King had with "his" Other.

If anything, I think it helps support it. He's not the Night's King yet, but he's on the road to hell.

I feel less like a maester and more like a Davos.

I have realized what the biggest problem I have had with the series....by throwing the visual of the White Walkers and now the NIght's KIng--he was in black after all- at me, it lessens them. A COLD presence is scary as frick. A poor cousin of Darth Maul looks like a fanboy's wetdream.

Okay, bone of contention here.

quote:

Dragons have a very, very direct relationship to magic. When the last dragon died, magic became much less powerful, but when Dany's dragons hatched, magic largely returned to the world. Melisandre became much more powerful, wildfyre became more powerful, etc.

Is it because of dragons coming back into the world that magic is, or is Magic coming back into the world through eh reemergence of the Others the reason?

"Winter is coming"

The others coming back (Craster's offerings have been going on for a while now) predate the dragons.

I'm thinking the emergence of one thing back into the world ushers into being once more it's polar opposite. R'hollor (fire god)
Dragons (breathe fire)
Wildfyre (living fire)
A blackfyre?

It's a song of Ice and Fire.

A Song.

Think about the operation of a Song.

Recall an important song from any other important works of literature?

Well, the wildfyre for sure got more powerful the second the dragons hatched. It does make me wonder if there is a correlation between the dragons rising and the Others as well.

183.5
One of them lost an arm and his big toe in a fishing accident, so he only counts as .5

Cersei: Will the king and I have children?
Maggy: Oh, aye. Six-and-ten for him, and three for you.

Well from Maggy the Frog, we know he had 16, and Cersei killed a few of them. Mia, Edric, and Gendry are still alive.

I'd argue that a head and torso are each worth .3, and each limb worth .1,
So a bastard with an arm and a big toe gone would count for .89.
