Have any weddings on this show went well and ended well?
Y'all catch the foreshadowing last week when Olenna Tyrell said something to Sansa about how awful it is to kill someone at a wedding?

Well that wedding did go ok,..until they went to another wedding then that sorta..well.
Tyrion's wedding, he was humiliated and didn't get any.
I guess in kings landing if nobody is murdered its a success.
Bad luck to have a marriage south of the wall.

eventually i think a Stark will take control of Winterfell and destroy Frey and Bolton, than Stannis will try to conquer Westeros, but fail, then Dany attacks the weakened Westeros and we end with
Dany(Targaryen) in the south
Stark in the North

Question:
Was Tywin's statement about knowing Dani had 3 dragons the first time anyone in Westeros made a definitive statement about this?
He seemed dismissive about it which seemed strange as if it was just another problem.

Yeah, but most people blew it off because they couldnt wrap their minds around the five whole feet Olenna had to go to drop the poison in Joffrey's cup.

Didn't Joffery talk to him about that when he Bitched about not having council?

i think he was pulling a play out of mace's playbook with the "if we don't all join together, we will all die" schtick
plus it trusts secret info to a perceived enemy
plus it strokes the ego of the only house to resist the previous dragon era (house martell's words = awesome)

My takeaways from the episode:
Jaime is a bitch again - his redemption story has come to a screeching halt just when we thought he was on a good path (a very typical GGR Martin troll move
). Brienne is his moral compass so I suppose they will have some sort of love story eventually, or Jaime will simply die.
Sir Davos writing the Iron Bank to buy an army seems interesting, I suppose the Bank will have some kind of recourse towards Lannister/Tyrell at some point.
Sam is a pathetic storyline right now, he and Gilly are soft. I don't need as much screen time with him as things sit.
Arya is learning that acting like a Stark is an easy way to die. She will be a killing machine very very soon.
Tywin is my favorite character on the show right now. He's evil but at least his character is consistent and transparent. Great speech on the old kings.

I don't get the reasoning of bringing up the Targs up to prince Martel. His sister was married to rhaegar who was a Targaryean. So wouldn't he want daenaryus over the lannisters?

What good would a backing secured by The Iron Bank do if Stannis already scoffed at the idea of using Sell Swords?
Posted on 4/20/14 at 11:37 pm to Scoop
i don't think he scoffed as much as had to admit that he didn't have the money
Posted on 4/20/14 at 11:39 pm to SlowFlowPro
Not really.
Stannis was pretty clear that he didn't want to take what he considered already his by dubious means.

He scoffed at the idea at first but then after Davos sorta made his point, Stannis just blew off by basically saying we don't have any money for them anyway.

i have to ssay ywin has the best wardrobe. He's always fly and on top of his game the whole series. If he were king himself, I wonder if anything would change, being he probably gets his way anways.

He's pretty much the only guy in the entire GoT universe over 50 with any semblance of power. The fact that he has survived as long as he has in that world makes him a GD genius. Just about everyone in positions such as as his gets themselves killed fairly young,
