I think so. Unless he shows up next episode and helps Bran get to Bloodraven. I think they'll use the children of the forest for that though and Leaf

There's a lot in that Davos line if you're carrying it all the way through to Frey Pie...

Now, being the "golden hand of the king" I could see Jaime having that title. After all he's gone through and will go through, he'd be great at the position. I do, however, think he will die in the end
But Hodor doesn't even know him yet.

Curious to see how the show plays the Hound in this episode.
I'm thinking they don't show him die but leave it up to speculation.

So they say for sure Jon dies? I don't think they do
they do not.
But all indications point to him warging into ghost at the time of the daggers.

so if he does that and someone (melisandre maybe) can somehow take him out of Ghost and put him into a new body that frees him from his vows of the NW.

I think his brothers killing him (physical body) ends his watch.

does it really matter?

That's the only way it will work. I did think back, though, and Brienne doesn't have to assume that he's dead. In fact, it makes more sense if she thinks that he escaped if they stick with the story in the books because everyone except Arya believed that the Hound was raping and killing in the Riverlands. That could actually add more material to Brienne's POV next season if she is still looking for him thinking that he has Arya.

Why do people keep assuming that books 4 & 5 are going to be covered by one 10 episode season?
Short answer is because the producers of the show have said that they plan to finish in 7 seasons.
The show is going to become even more out of sync with the books next season and even D&D have said that they envision having about half of ADWD left to cover in season 6.
That said, I think we are in for a struggle between the HBO writers, GRRM and reality. D&D have said that they plan to finish in 7 seasons, but that is simply not realistic, even if they give in to Martin's idea of expanding the seasons beyond 10 episodes. I've also seen where Martin was wanting like 10 seasons with prequel stuff included like the Dunk and Egg stories. That won't happen either.
I've always thought that 9 seasons made the most sense, but I've come around to the argument of those who say HBO will not stretch it out that long. I'm guessing 8.

I'm wondering how much of the Kingsmoot/Greyjoy Brothers/Dorne/Quentyn will make it in. All of those end up interconnecting in a way (leading up to Dany), but so much of it has to be introduced.
Guess it might be why they haven't killed Balon yet. Best to have him die and lead immediately into the Kingsmoot, than have him die in season 3/4 and have the kingsmoot 1-2 years/seasons later.
Guess killing off a large chunk of the Kings Landing storyline (Tywin/Shae/No Tyrion or Varys, less Bronn) can open up for more Dorne/Iron Islands, but sadly, more Mereen.
Think they try to expand Mace's story and bring back Kevan?
