Why do people keep assuming that books 4 & 5 are going to be covered by one 10 episode season?
First off, they are both massive books. I don't even think we get completely out of aSoS THIS season.
Also, just because there's not a ton of killing or battles in AFFC or aDwD doesn't mean that nothing happens in these books. You just haven't seen it on screen yet so you probably don't remember much if you only read the books once.
Stuff to be covered from books 4 & 5:
-The Kingsmoot
-the rest of the Wall battle (no way that gets fully covered in a few minutes next week)
-Stannis offering Jon legitimacy
-Sending Maester Aemon and Sam and Gilly to the Citadel
-All the other happenings at the Wall (Mance, Val, fetch a block, etc)
-Aegon reveal (young griff, griff, Jon Connington)
-Euron storyline
-Victarion storyline
-Dorne storyline (sand snakes, Myrcella assassination attempt, etc)
-Stannis marching on Winterfell/Ramsey's letter/Boltons at WF
-Theon Turncloak
-Jon elected LC
-Brianne and Pod
-LSH and the brotherhood without Banners
-Dany's storyline
-opening the fighting pits
-Dany getting married
-Barristan's pov
-Quentyn trying to steal the dragons and getting roasted
-Dany trying to rule
-Dany getting sick
-Pale Mare
-Jon Snows death
-Cercei ruling
-Kings Landing
-new high septon and return of the militant Faith
-Jamie's continuing story arc
-Sansa, LF and the Vale
-Arya's faceless man training in Braavos
-Bran and bloodraven
-Tyrion and Penny and the Second Sons
-Davos going to look for Rickon

It's heavily implied that he is dead. He gets stabbed several times

I agree he is not dead. Only because GRRM basically confirmed it.
