No...Some (and a very few at that) think that to be the case. However, there have been numerous examples posted as to why Benjen isn't Coldhands.
Plus, if there was any way that it was true, the show would have included Coldhands, IMO.

is he at least a ranger of the NW? seems like it
Posted on 6/13/14 at 3:45 pm to Byron Bojangles III
Yeah...I believe he is just a long-dead ranger of the NW's in the service of Bloodraven.

just got to the part where Bran wargs into Hodor and kills the wight and after Hodor regains himself he just yells HODOR! a bunch of times
it was Roy Dotrice screaming Hodor a bunch of times

Most likely. He knew about the secret passageway in the Nightfort that only opens for the Night's Watch. He also called Sam "brother."

I'd ask in the Middle Ground, but you can't talk about actual spoilers so...The Children can't refer to all that many different things.
I figure it has to be the Children of the Forest. But, what I don't know is does this mean they aren't all dead? Does it have to do with a return of previously assumed dead characters?
Interesting no matter what, though I fear this episode will be so tightly packed it'll be poorly paced.

The CotF aren't dead, they're just the last few remaining of those who were originally in Westeros.

The "Previously On" for the last episode
I dislike that the "previously on" consistently telegraphs what's going to occur in the episode that follows it. In this case, I think the show would be served just fine by omitting the Stannis scene and Arya with Jaqen.
I understand why they remind the audience of the place setting they did earlier in the series, but I think the creators severely underestimate the ability of their viewers to remember plot points. Admittedly there are a number of plots going on at once, but the impact of the payoff in those plots is lessened when the viewer is actively waiting for them to happen.

The Children can mean alot of things.
Obviously the COTF.
Then there's the Stark Children, each at various crossroads (Jon "won" the Wall, Bran reaches his destination, Arya crossing the sea, Sansa enters The Game, Rickon..well, maybe he finally got to wherever he was going)
Then you have the Lannister Children (Tyrion, Jamie, Cersei), at crossroads of their own.
Dany's dragon's are her Children, and I think this is the point where she learns that they are dangerous creatures, and has them locked up.
Yeah, the Previously on are almost surefire ways to know what's important/coming. But, it was needed a couple episodes ago, to remind you about that whole Jon Aryyn death by Lannister thing. Ancient history in the TV show.

I was being vague for no reason. I know what and who Lady Stoneheart is and why the Brotherhood Without Banners has been totally absent this season.
So I wonder if that has something to do with Children. I know nothing more than Stoneheart's existence. And "The Children", to me, could be something a psycho undead Catlyn Stark would mutter. She thinks her children got all killed or are totally at the mercy of the Lannisters.
Of course, I assume she'll come back psycho. She just looked like she lot all her mind at Red Wedding.
Of course, this could be something that doesn't crop up until much later in the books. I don't know as I haven't read that far.

Yeah, those are definitely 'spoiler-y' for Hodors IMO.

It's why I checked a few times to make sure I'm in the right topic.
I think I'm in the right topic.
