Definitely think Aegon taking 2 wives is a good possibility. If not, I'm leaning towards Arianne being his only wife.

Sorry, but unless I missed something, that has NOT been covered at all in the show. I'm hoping we get it next season through Bran flashbacks.

So this thread turned into a bunch of fan fiction?

We'll trickle off into the crackpot thread soon enough

I would just like to ask you all what you may think of the reasoning behind people who clearly thoroughly enjoy the show and the story, but refuse to read the books. I just don't get it. As I have said before, GRRM isn't a particularly lyrical writer the entire time, but he is phenomenal at populating a world with incredible characters and interesting backstory. It makes for an amazingly rich canvas to think upon.
Even if they don't want to be spoiled by future events, they could at least read the first three books to have a better understanding going forward. Do people really hate to read that much?

Public schooling.
But seriously, the Hodor thread is inundated with R+L=J talk for a couple episodes. If there were hints in the show to it, that would make sense. The episodes have made no mention of it at all.
I think most people claiming to be Hodors have at least looked into this thread or the crackpot one

I'm almost totally convinced of this. Why else would Ned find Lyanna in a bloody bed (presumably having given birth), Lyanna says "Promise me, Ned" before she dies (presumably to take care of her son), and Ned comes home with a baby.
How is this legal in the Hodor thread?

I read the first one and got a few hundred pages into the second one, and I just don't like GRRM's style. The POV chapters and lack of a narrative flow didn't do it for me. His painstaking detail didn't leave me with a rich picture of the world but a very rigid one since I didn't have many gaps to fill for myself. I think he's a great story teller though, so I get his story without trudging through books that I just don't enjoy. I read a lot, and have tons of friends who both do and don't read that love these books, but they just don't do it for me at all.
(I'm clearly not that invested in the sanctity of watching only the show either since I've read parts of this thread)

My favorite moment of the episode, and one I haven't seen mentioned, was Mance's quiet answer "we do not kneel" and his repeating it even after the implied threat from Stannis. Good stuff.

From the Hodor thread.
So in other words..he deduces R+L= J from Mel's "stink eye" and Ygritte's last words, oh and an NYT article??
I call major bullshite.
quote:
Posted by Vegas Bengal What I posted and what I think comes only from what I've seen on the show... And deduction. The witch-woman's intent stare at Jon Snow from across the Castle Yard means something. Her loyalties are to Stannis. Why would a bastard son of Ned Stark be a threat to Stannis or even a concern of with her? Ned Stark isn't the kind of guy who goes around screwing women. He's not Robert. But he takes the boy in and suffered the wrath of his wife. Why? Also, Ned would give Jon his name. He didn't. Why? It all happened around the time of his sister's death and the Robert Rhaeger fight. Thus we can deduce that Jon has power Witchy is concerned about which threatens Stannis and that is he is of Royal (Robert or Rhaeger) blood. And actually I cheated a bit. The NYT has a LINK recap that brought up the question of his pedigree based on the stink eye and Ygritte's last words.

I call bullshite on that too.
Only book readers would be able to deduce that Mel is starting to see Jon in her flames instead of Stannis and that he is "special" because he's TPtwP/AA/half Stark and half Targ. Fwiw that was my favorite moment in the episode.

Yep, that was a great scene including Jon's exchange with Stannis.

I call major bullshite on that too. Mel saw something in Arya, too (in the show). That doesn't mean that she thinks Arya is a royal.

A new keyboard for the Hodors...
Only $0.99 on the play store hahaha
quote:
Description
Accept no substitutes. Hodor would pay a dollar. You know it's true.
Be like Hodor. Say Hodor.
Hodor hodor hodor.
Hodor. Hodor hodor hodor hodor.
-- Long press for maximum Hodor.
-- Swipe left to unHodor a Hodor.
-- Swipe right to delete a character (make sure you delete the ones everyone loves first!)
HOW TO ENABLE:
• Go into device settings
• Go to Language and Input Methods (or something along those lines, depending on phone manufacturer)
• Make sure the "Hodor Keyboard" checkbox is checked (While keeping whatever is already checked checked)
• A scary dialog will pop up, but the app doesn't have internet access so it's not like I can send myself all of your Hodors, even if I wanted to.
• From here it's enabled, and you can either set it as default if that's your thing, or choose it from the input method chooser which now shows up whenever you have a keyboard up.
• Hodor away. Hodor.
Extra bonus: If your passwords are Hodor, this is by far the fastest way to log in.

Man, I haven't been posting in these threads all season, but just wanted to drop in to give major props for The Hound in his "death" scene. shite that was some of the best acting of the entire series.
Right up there with Tyrion's trial, any scene with Tywin, Jamie in the bath, and anything with Ned.
Also one of the more emotional scenes as it really made you pity the man, which also showed how cold blooded Arya has become as she denied him the mercy he begged for.
That said, I really didn't love making Brienne take him down. I understand the infection he was fighting, but I just don't think the show had done enough to show it draining his strength enough. Brienne is a good fighter. But she was not the type of fighter that could take down a man as skilled, strong, and fast in a straight up brawl (Hound is not a knight after all), he would have crushed her unless on his death bed. One of those punches would have turned her lights out. And not just because she's a woman. I only consider 3 or 4 warriors in the entire realm to be able to go one on one with The Hound in an actual fight to the death, not some tournament with dulled blades.
Also, will make the Gravedigger scene not make sense if it means what most of us agree it that it does.
Anyway, just wanted to give my praise to the actor. He was phenomenal in that scene, and really owned this whole season imo.
