Yep, that was a great scene including Jon's exchange with Stannis.

My favorite moment of the episode, and one I haven't seen mentioned, was Mance's quiet answer "we do not kneel" and his repeating it even after the implied threat from Stannis. Good stuff.

"I've lost enough men, we surrender"

"Kneel or I will kill all your men"

"Nevermind, we haven't lost enough men"

Well, there is a slight difference between openly continuing to fight the battle and quietly refusing to kneel after you've surrendered.

Though if I remember right the wildlings do eventually submit to authority of Stannis and/or Jon. I can't remember if they actually kneel but it wouldn't surprise me.

i think Stannis allows them not to kneel if they pledge fealty to him. i think.

I am listening to the videos you posted yesterday. They are very helpful refreshers for the background on the books and show.

My favorite thing about this moment was it was one of the first times in the show where everything had kind of "come full circle," if you will. Seeing the dots start to connect. Mostly things have been separate up to this point (save for a few instances, but mostly separate), and it was cool to finally see some things connect.

They are reaching quite a bit, there is no way they are able to make it to next season without reading spoilers.

From the Middle Ground Thread:

The point I was getting at is he kept thinking he found it. But it was revealed both times to be false and because of Tywin. The last reveal felt like it really made him snap.

My case is closed.

To be honest I really couldn't pick her out of a lineup.

FWIW why are they recasting her?

Since Myrcella's had approximately 28 seconds of air time so far this series, there was no need to cast a real actress under contract to play her. Now D&D are free to cast someone with the ability to ask, "Are you the Sword of the Morning?"
