Well, frick. I have to say I'm a bit pissed that they changed two things: Arya not getting hit in the head with the axe and Roose changing the line to simply "The Lannisters" instead of Jaime. But holy frick. Done great and wonderfully. frick, frick, FUUUUUCCCCKKK!!!

I think it works way better with the wife. The whole thing with Jinglebell in the books I thought was lame anyway, him not caring about a retarded kid was sort of believable, this is way more brutal with the wife.

They weren't going to make it seem like Arya died, they want to give the show watchers some hope.
Making it just the Lannisters isn't that big of a deal to me.
They nailed this episode.

It was a great episode but I do think they lose some shock factor with Arya not getting hit over the head with the axe. That was more WTF than Robb getting killed for me. I never actually liked Robb but Arya is a big crowd favorite.

Me either. I think they didn't want to completely destroy Jaime's image again after he has become so much more likable.
