So lets say, someone posts a GoT meme in here that is funny. And I reply hey that is a funny post, where did you find that picture? I should be banned for being a reader fig fattie douche and posting in the non-reader thread? Makes sense.
Posted on 4/16/13 at 12:01 pm to fouldeliverer
You've already met the definition of douche by posting in the other thread that you can't stay away from this thread because the non readers are pansies.

I tried to stay away, but they are such little butt hurt pansies, it's difficult. If you post anything, even if its just chatting with a friend, and has nothing to do with plotlines or story they get their panties in a bunch. You could say ooh that slave translator was hot huh guys? And they're response would be er meh gerd ged out reader nerd!
That is what I wrote and that is the absolute truth, you are a butt hurt pansy that is more concerned with being policeman of this thread and complaining about readers than discussing the show. All I've done in this thread is made a few lighthearted jokes, chatted harmlessly but that doesn't matter to you.

And they should be banned.

I'm not saying it does. But you said this:

you expect me to lurk while you're miscontracting shite?
..directly bringing you into the scenario. So yes, in the scenario of miscontracting shite, I do expect you not to jump in this thread and correct me.
You have said very little in this thread, and that's greatly appreciated. I was just responding to what you asked (and it applied broadly).

What's funny is that you simply have to post here. You have to. You know what we're saying and (I assume) even appreciate taht we don't want to discuss the show with bookreaders. Yet you still post in here because frick YOU, that's why, right? And we don't "own the thread" right? Nevermind that you have multiple other places to discuss the show...we can't have one, right?
So you call it what you want, but yeah I'm gonna police it as best as I can to try to keep readers out. If that means the content devolves into back and forth arguments of why for 15 pages, NBD. And there are some readers who have backed away and I appreciate the frick out of that. shite, I don't even care how much shite is talked about me in the other thread, just as long as ya'll are posting over there and not here. Manwich is right, and some of you will always post in here just to be dicks, and I get that. But that doesn't mean I can't try to call you out.

That's fine. You're not alone in that feeling from what I saw yesterday. As long as readers are fricking up the fun of GoT for the rest of us (and that's exactly what is happening), then I'll be fighting the good fight.

I'd like to see it not have to come down to that. But if that's the only thing that will work, then it may have to. This board is usually pretty mature about shite, but for some reason GoT (and TWD) are outliers.

the rabble cannot police itself and the non-readers will always be the victims. real talk.
I'm not sure if that's a threat or not (not from you, but in general saying that we are the victims because we have something to lose - being spoiled). But if some people get their jimmies off by rustling others', then oh well.

I think its just a self fufilling cycle, making a big deal about it only causes it to be a big deal and then comes the argument about how big of a deal it should be. If readers post simple replies and the post itself is harmless then simply ignoring it and not calling it out is the best way to deal with it IMHO.
GoT Breaks Ratings Record
If I come in this thread to share this information to you guys because I think someone who reads this thread may want to know about it, do you honestly think that chastising me about posting in here simply because I am a reader is an appropriate response?

In absolute numbers, the show was seen by 4.72 million people during its original airing, while another 1.04 million were added to the tally during the 11 PM repeat.

Director's comment on song choice at ending credits:
quote:
It’s such a shocking ending and when we read the scene in the books it was so shocking to us,” Weiss says. “To really hammer home the shock of that moment you need something unexpected. There’s no version of a traditional score that would keep you as off balance as we wanted that scene to leaving you feeling.”

Of course not. But your premise of this:
quote:
If readers post simple replies and the post itself is harmless
..isn't always the case. Like I've said countless times before, if there hadn't been numerous times in the past where readers couldn't control themselves, then we wouldn't be having this discussion. And sometimes it's intentional, but sometimes it's completely accidental. The problem is that both lead to information being posted that shouldn't be, and that sucks no matter how it happened. So the easiest and best way is for readers to not post anything at all in the nonreader thread.
You posting something like a ratings link is perfectly acceptable to just about everyone I'd imagine. That's definitely something I would think people (nonreaders and readers alike) would be interested in. The problem is like someone (Belle maybe?) said the other day..that the readers who can't contain themselves sort of ruin it for the ones who can. So the best thing to do is each have our own threads. Unfortunately, readers refuse to respect that and so here we are. And I know you guys think I'm just being a dick and trying to be a hero policeman or whatever, but that's not the case at all. I've tried to be very civil and pleasant about it all throughout this thread. And it's actually worked a little bit.

I feel sorry that you think this is what it's about. It's about having just one thread where non readers can enjoy this show without any threat of a spoiler, without the potential to be guided into a correct theory, without having to listen to throngs of back story, and without being corrected continuously.
If we don't self police this thread, because readers can't stay away, then eventually readers WILL start crossing the line.
If you want to discuss ratings, discuss it with people who want to discuss it with you. It's that simple. Why do you feel the need to have to post that information in this thread? Why do you feel the need to post any information in this thread?

This is 100% correct.

I feel bad for the non-readers. I really do. But, just judging from his stance and where he is wearing his sword, I'd be willing to bet he is right handed. Left side of belt, pull using right hand across body. JMO.

The Bolton guys seem pretty serious about fricking people up, I'm sure they know what they're doing when they decided to chop off a knight's hand.
