Either way it could very easily be a kingsmoot without Damphair, no one would notice the difference so long as someone brings up the subject of choosing the next king.

I mean there's a lot of things that can be done without specific characters with the right amount of reworking. I had just hoped he'd be cast. I think he's a pretty good representation of how seriously the people of the Iron Islands take the Drowned God and all that business.

I'm pretty sure it was Feast.

Then they have plenty of time to cast him.

No reason to spend that money casting a character who won't even play a decent part until 3 seasons down the road

How in the hell to yall stay so sharp on the details? I read all 5 books less than a year ago and I feel like I need to read them all over again.

Most of us have re read each book at least twice.

I have read the first three 3 times.

Along with countless hours on Westeros.org and Towerofthehand.com

I haven't reread the 5th yet, and I really haven't ever spent time at ToH, just Westeros since it's been around way longer.

The only one I haven't reread is Feast only because it was hard enough to get through once.

I have spent way more time at Westeros also but ToH has some good shite

Feast is definitely weakest volume of the series, but not only that there really just isnt all that much content. It's not hard at all to remember what took place.

My biggest problem when discussing the shows is remembering where one book ends and another begins. My rememberance of the series as a whole is usually fairly spot on

Exactly, I figure the 2nd season has one entire episode nearly devoted to blackwater, and ends on a cliff hanger.

But I really can't figure out how they will divide the 3rd season. I am guessing like everyone else the cliff hanger, but the other big WTF moment isn't really too much longer after that. Definitely not long enough to end the 4th season on as a cliff hanger.

I guess the 4th season will be the rest of ASoS and a good bit of Feast. Maybe they will merge Feast and Dragons since those timelines are for the most part simultaneous. Then the 4th season will be the rest of Swords, and a bit of Feast and Dragons.

Help me out here. I'm drawing a blank on what else could be the cliff hanger other than the Red Wedding.

This is the book thread you can post the spoilers

Yeah, it's going to be the red wedding, the showrunners pretty much came out and said it.

The second WTF actually happens about 300-350 pages after the RW, which is about 2/3 through the book. I'm sure they'll put some of AFFC into the fourth season to fill things out a bit. In particular I'm sure they'll put some of the iron islands and Dornish POV in there just for continuity, and possibly even Theon from ADWD just so the characters don't disappear for an entire season.

Thats what I assumed.

I kind of figured they would end last season with Ned's death to be honest

I always figured the dragons would be the final scene, just because there is quite a bit of novel after Ned's death. The King in the North scene was the only other possibility besides the dragons I could see really.

I bounced back and forth between the dragons and Ned. I kind of figured that would be squeezed into one episodes with quick cuts between Dany being found in the fire with dragons and Ice coming down on Ned.

I am glad they did it the way they did though. Proves why they are directing critically acclaimed television shows and I am not

All he would be there for would be drown someone and bring them back to life. HBO is steering clear of most magic for the most part.

Damphair never performs magic; he basically does CPR on the ppl he drowns

AFFC was better on the second read IMO bc you don't expect it to be mind-blowing and can appreciate the nuances he incorporates and of course pick up on the foreshadowing
