This season is off to a great start, but Season 1 will always be the GOAT.

I know I’m in the minority but I like season 4 with Chris Rock.

Don't get me wrong. I still enjoyed the first two episodes.

But more than a little of it was too much

Yeah I finally watched both episodes and I agree with you. Suspension of disbelief is fine but this is a bit over the top as far as Jon Hamm's character and what he would be getting away with. I definitely love JJL so far and that Dot is cute as a button but will pull off some Home Alone shite. And while it feeds into the weak husband strong women stuff we see all too much, I actually really like the husband and think he's funny.

E3 starting a little slow. A real big showdown coming at some point.

That back story with the hitman is wild. He’s definitely about to kill the sheriffs family. He’s walking into their home at the end. This show has hit the ground running immediately and it’s been awesome. The nightmare before Christmas nods are great too.

Love all the nods to other Coen Bros. movies
-Dot's abduction is very similar original Fargo
-The sheriff comes from a line of sheriffs like in No Country for Old Men
-the cashier in Raising Arizona was armed with a pistol and got the drop on the robber, the cashier in season 5 was armed with an air horn but also got the drop on the intruder
-Dot's mug shot was taken when she wasnt ready like HI's in Raising Arizona

So many more

Things have heated up so quickly I cannot fathom where all this is going to go over the next 7 episodes.

Is every season independent of the other seasons? I've just watched 1 and 2 so far

That might have been the strangest episode of Fargo yet.. and that’s saying something

There are tie in of all the previous seasons to each other and the movie. But they are all separate stories.

Haven't really seen any tie ins with this season just nods to different scenes. But I may have missed it.

I didn’t watch when it first came out, but since there’s nothing else on TV, I went back and started S1 E1- I’m hooked. BBT is one WEIRD dude.

Episode 3 was wildass and I’m gonna need a podcast recap to see what I missed.

I love this show so much because it’s so crazy arse and nothing like anything else on TV.

Spoiler:

Can someone try to explain to me in layman terms what the hell is going on with the hitman and the 500 year flashbacks?

I was going to ask the same question. Was it the same actor? I couldn't tell.

Yes it’s the same actor/character. Seems like he is now immortal due to that religious ceremony we saw in the flashback.

Gotta disagree here. In the movie he was a successful wildlife artist. Being selected for a duck stamp is a pretty big deal.
