I’ve seen it a dozen times but still find myself watching it when on. What say the board?

I really like it. The battle scenes are top notch.

Brad Pitt’s character philosophizing on the horrors of war gets a bit much. I guess someone has to verbalize the narrative point-of-view, but it’s little too talky.

Didn’t Shia Labeouf convert to Christianity based on playing his character?

It wouldn’t surprise me, supposedly he pulled out one of his teeth for the character as well

Gave a great performance as did the kid
who played Norman.

Bernthal was a little over the top with his character and it never fails that the guy who portrays a dumbass psycho lunatic ALWAYS has a southern
accent.

LaBeouf is bat shite crazy but has given a few great performances. Lerman (Norman) has also given some good ones, to my knowledge he’s not crazy though. I know what you mean about Bernthal but I think that’s what they were going for

Those tank crews went through hell and this movie delivered on that front.

I thought the pacing in the middle was off and the end was pretty ridiculous, but I still catch it for the battle scenes.

They used the world’s last operational German Tiger for the showdown scene vs. the Shermans. There’s a short doc on it I can’t find, but here’s some BTS of it driving around the set.

The movie where a Tiger in cover and massive range/gun advantage comes charging out into the open so the more maneuverable Sherman can kill it? Love that part.

The ending basically happened. Google audie Murphy

With the enemy tanks abreast of his position, 2d Lt. Murphy climbed on the burning tank destroyer, which was in danger of blowing up at any moment, and employed its .50 caliber machine gun against the enemy. He was alone and exposed to German fire from 3 sides, but his deadly fire killed dozens of Germans and caused their infantry attack to waver. The enemy tanks, losing infantry support, began to fall back. For an hour the Germans tried every available weapon to eliminate 2d Lt. Murphy, but he continued to hold his position and wiped out a squad which was trying to creep up unnoticed on his right flank. Germans reached as close as 10 yards, only to be mowed down by his fire. He received a leg wound, but ignored it and continued the single-handed fight until his ammunition was exhausted. He then made his way to his company, refused medical attention, and organized the company in a counterattack which forced the Germans to withdraw. His directing of artillery fire wiped out many of the enemy; he killed or wounded about 50.

Best job I ever had.

Deleted scene LINKthat somewhat explains reasons for Pitts death wish and his relationship with Norman.

No idea why they decided to cut it. Its kind of important to
the story line.

The casts of Even Stevens, Holes, and Transformers also had the same complaint.

Would have been better if they didn’t use lasers.

Thought the same thing when I first saw the movie but then did some reading and found this

Every anti-tank round fired by a US Army M-4 Sherman tank with the 75mm M3 gun had a tracer, by the time of the movie's story, after the 1944 Normandy Invasion.
