New around here, so my opinion will probably hold no weight, but I loved loved loved this show. Also hated what they did in season 2, but I loved Landry and Tyra anyway. And Riggins. And Coach & Mrs. Coach. Yeah, I loved that show.

Did I mention the word "love"?

The episode "The Son" in season 4 is one of the best episodes of television I've ever seen.

Conversely, the story line with Lance (Landry) and Tyra in 2 was the worst thing the show did.

season 2 had about a million stupid story lines that went nowhere.

I agree about 'the son'

Wasn't it during the writers strike?

If not then the writers should have been fired.

Great show.

What season was it where the riggens, lance (landry) and sacrcen are out on the field and billy starts reminicing about state

"matt may-day sarcen"

one of my favorite exchanges througout that whole show.

That was a great scene. Didn't Saracen say he wanted a cool nickname like cobra or some shite. Then Riggins says why would spill Cobras beer?

ETA: Not sure the season.

I think everyone but that guy is in consensus that season 2 is an abomination.

I think that is putting it a little too harsh. Compared to the other seasons yes, compared to most TV not an abomination.

I thought it was an effort by the writers to appeal to a wider (less discerning) audience. They dumbed it down that season, but many of their core audience was horrified by how the Landry-as-killer storyline did not ring true.

What's odd about Season 2 is that it has some of the best scenes of the entire series, but all people remember is that horrible horrible Landry subplot. Smash's recruitment is one of the best subplots of the series, but it gets overshadowed by the crappiness of Landry's plot.

Smash learning and dealing with the reality of how good he really was is often overshadowed on here. Great part of that season.

This. I never understood how people can overlook everything else about that season. I personally didn't even find the Landry/Tyra subplot all that awful. Sure it was something right out of one of those shitty ABC Family teenage angst shows but at least the actors made it tolerable for me.

you're kidding right?

I agree to an extent with the rest. There were good parts of season two but that whole shite show that surrounded it definitely made it the weakest season.

Picking and choosing i'd absolutly take episodes out fo that for a greatest hits compilation but over all season two was bad.

Late to the thread, but my GF and I really loved this series. Just finished it recently. Hell of a show.
