Just watched it. Really good. It was like a better and more heartwarming version of what Ready Player One tried to be. Much better humor, too.

That was a fun movie.
But that opening scene was almost exactly the opening scene in LEGO movie. I kept waiting for them to bust out into “Everything is Awesome!”

I love Jodie Cromer rendition of Fantasy. That was fire.

The movie wasn’t bad but it really feels like a movie about video games written and directed by someone who never played a video game.
The plot was cool and the themes were interesting albeit borrowed heavily from movies like Ready Player One and books like SnowCrash.
Worse than that was the constant harping about gender and race in the background of so many scenes. It’s just ridiculous at this point. At one point a character praises the AI’s ability to write a scathing review of the patriarchy.
I think I’m too old for Television and Movies. Great. This is the movie that makes that realization crystal in my mind.

What? They even nailed subtle things like noob players in the background wildly jumping around or punching the air and stuff just like in real games.
