I don’t care for this epilogue to Frasier.

I loved the way the show ended. And I have things in my mind how they might have continued.

For those reasons, I will not watch any revival. That’s just for me and the way I choose to treat it. I understand fully that other people have different attitudes and that is fine.

The show and the characters are permanently pictured in my mind, as if I fixed them at a certain point in time to remain in my heart forever. And there they will stay.

I'd watch it if Roz and Bulldog are together.

And Frederick speaks Klingon.

My favorite:

Niles: Oh. I take it you had a whiz-bang time at the karaoke bar?

Frasier: For starters, Woody sang "What Kind Of Fool Am I?". Then Gil and Noel did a charming duet, "Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better." They were both wrong.
I guess the highlight of the evening was when Gil, after one too many Kir Royales, performed a haunting rendition of "I Feel Pretty," during the latter verses of which Noel joined him on the apron of the stage and translated into Klingon.

This seems as good a place as any. I came across this while going down a rabbit hole. It never dawned on me how many older actors Kelsey Grammer would channel into the Frasier character.

Bette Davis, Jackie Gleason and Jack Benny to name a few.

LINK

Also a good read for Niles and his inspirations

Never liked that show.

Loved Cheers, but he was by far my least favorite character on it.

Could be great

In theory - full disclosure - my absolute favorite shows of the 1990s were Frasier and Newsradio. Frasier is arguably my favorite show and Frasier Crane is definitely my favorite television character of all time.

This is very dangerous - like "Star Wars prequels" dangerous.

Frasier in his mid-60s, still looking for love in all the wrong places and trying to do a parenting job on a millenial Frederick - would be early 30s - almost exactly the age Frasier was when he appeared on Cheers is likely to be sad in an unironic, unfunny way.

I don't doubt the talent of the cast - they were pretty solid back in the day. But, are folks going to be watching 60-year old Roz and Daphne? I'm being realistic about how superficial and ageist the average television audience is.

You can have a show with a couple of old fogeys around for either "tough love" or comic relief. You can't have "A" stories around them every week.

I just don't think it can work.

I would make Frederick somewhat blue-collar, like a carpenter or a contractor, or someone who dropped out of school to open up a hipster-ish business that Fraiser doesn’t understand. That way you would have a similar foil to Frasier as Martin was with his gruff dry wit and every man appeal. Daphne and Niles being parents to teenagers has ample fodder for fun plots.

Matlock, Golden Girls, Murder She Wrote, Barnaby Jones would say different.

Friend,

Let's hope not. Some of the worst characters and worst television ever broadcast come from that abomination of a show.

This can either go badly or really badly. I love Frazier and even own the box set. That said, most of these “revivals” have been disasters.

Look at Gilmore Girls. They did a “where are they now” type revival and it ended up pissing off most of their fans. Apparently learning how awful of a human being Rory was killed their fan base.

I know Fuller House is somehow still on, but it was awful when I tried watching it.

Girl meets world was mediocre to bad.

Will and Grace has been atrocious.

It just doesn’t work. Frasier coming out from Cheers is an entirely different in that it was a spinoff of a side character. These revivals try to bring back the same main characters which is why they fail.

Roseanne was likely the most potential for
success but even that flamed out for obvious reasons.

When Curb was brought back, it was fantastic.

When Arrested Development came back, it was...not good. But, then they did the Season 4 Remix and it was suddenly much MUCH better! And Season 5 was really solid too. Not as great as the original run, but still better than most other shows on tv.

Left out the Murphy Brown reboot. No doubt with good reason..

Not gonna lie, I loved this show when it was on, but I’m not enthusiastic about seeing them almost 20 years after their satisfying exit.

Well, except Lilith. She’s still a babe even at 61.
