So it’s all good to make a horror movie about it after it’s been addressed once?

I was just pointing out that the topic has already be brought to light.

Admittedly, QT wasn't going auteur into absurdity, he was going straight into absurdity via schlock

Not a fan of Kill Bill vol 1& 2 or Death Proof. Everything before and after have been wonderful imo.

Guess I'm admittedly in the minority a fan of Peele. We only have 3 movies to judge him on.

Get Out was great on initial watch. The take was fresh.

I enjoyed much of Us as well. The ending could have been better.

Nope was trash.

2/3 doesn't warrant the angst I see people have for Peele, which leads me to wonder if it's agenda driven.

Yes and some people use horror in this way specifically. Generally I'm not a fan. I like horror for horror's sake.

I don't know of any horror movies as popular, marketed, or funded like Peele's that did. Horror in general has always had social commentary, but its rarely if ever as simple as "white people are the bad guys actually"

Why all the Hate for Peele on here?

He makes pretty solid original films that have an extra layer to them and are fun to unpack. Get Out was damn good, Us was really solid, Nope i thought was good but i get people not liking it. The new Candyman was solid, Keanu was funny, and Key and Peele is the funniest sketch comedy show since Chapelle Show. The only thing he was apart of that sucked was the Twilight Zone revamp. Calling him a hack is a stretch

it is more a reaction to the glazing he gets in the media.

He made 1 good movie, and the rest are meh.

the rub is that he isn't subtle. The message of his films are either hamfisted punches to the face, or they are explicitly spelled out for you.

I think Get Out was his one good idea.
