Spoilers obviously

Infinity War is definitely far and away the better movie overall, it really drags early on after your first viewing...but man that third act is pretty incredible.

Hate that Iron Man dies but still hits you in the feels on the second viewing.

Fat Thor throughout still bothers me

Hulk not getting to frick shite up one last time especially after sitting IW out feels like a huge mistake

Captain Marvel’s appearance at the final battle still feels unearned, we don’t really know you. Fury showing up with a fleet to take down the ship would have been much more of a “frick yeah”

Cap with the hammer is still awesome

It was Such an underwhelming ending for hulks arc that started in ragnarok

Switch Captain Marvel for Hulk at the end and you have an A+ climax.

Fat Thor was humorous but I didn’t like seeing him like that the whole movie

He was dusted in the middle of New York City. There's no way he would have made it to upstate NY in time.

Sling rings. All of Dr Strange’s buddies brought in everyone who ever allied with The Avengers from Manhattan to Wakanda through the sling rings.

Especially considering we've never seen movie Hulk hulk up so to speak and be at his full power.

Captain America sitting on the bench at the end of the movie after returning the stones still bothers me.

Maybe my biggest complaint about the movie is how poorly utilized she is. Even though Dr. Strange was released at the end of 2016, and Infinity War was released in May of 2018, he really wasn't in any other films in the MCU outside of a brief cameo in Ragnarok yet he had a huge part to play in Infinity War. I felt like Captain Marvel would be treated similarly.

Instead, she shows up then leaves for the entire movie because of "space earthquakes."

Problem is that CM has story-breaker powers. She is so powerful that you have to either knock her out or tie her up in order to have a story worth watching if the “normal” heroes are involved.

This is why you have a character in the comics like Sentry who is God-like in power but is mentally ill to the point where you don’t know if he will be huddled in the corner or tearing an enemy apart. Because if he were reliable there would be no drama other than “What do we do if he decides not to cooperate?”

agree with pretty much everything you said. The wakanda chant at the final battle gave me goosebumps on the first watch.

Worst part is they could've done this so much better.

Thor being depressed makes perfect sense. You have to believe that he had spent every day for years reliving the moment of "not going for the head" over and over again and blaming himself for not saving everyone when he had the chance. However, because Thor was a comedy character they went the fat Thor route.

As an aside, I love Thor Ragnarok and how funny it is and Thor has provided a lot of great comedic relief, but they could have given that aspect a more serious tone.

The thing that's annoying about Captain Marvel is that, if she's so overwhelmingly powerful, why doesn't she just tear through the entirety of Thanos' army?

Both of these are correct. I think his big moment, and every OG Avenger got one, was bringing people back. It feels a little manufactured but they tried to give everyone a thing to do, having Hulk epically win would have felt out of balance since he probably did the most important thing in the film outside of Stark. No one else could have done that.

The whole sequence from walking up to Thanos to end is kind of mindblowing that we actually got to see something like that on film. I had it on recently and thought we'll never see something like that again, not even in this new Saga. I don't think Superhero movies are done, but the next set will be radically different. And that's probably the right move.

You can't replicate that kind of build up and pay off.

Which makes some of the movie's shortcomings dissapointing.

Like in the Hobbit. They knew they couldn't mess up in showing the riddle scene, and they nailed it. Why couldn't that kind of care and effort have been put in the whole movie?

Well, I agree with you, but I don't think it would work...

I thought when he got his hammer back, he should have transformed back into "ripped" Thor.
But then when you consider it, Thor back at the top of his game, with both hammers, he should take Thanos down.

If he still loses, it would be ok to have Tony do what he did... but you can't put the Cap scene in. Cap with the hammer is awesome, better than fat Thor, but not REAL Thor... with 2.

Yeah, especially after seeing him wreck shop in Infinity War.

It was ok to start with, but I'd have liked to see badass Thor back by the time of the final battle. Let all the Avengers be fully powered to take down Thanos.

Same basic idea with Hulk.

Yep, same with Scarlet Witch and Strange if they were to face Thanos without his stones.

Wanda was waxing his arse, would’ve killed him but they had to have the ships rain fire or the movie ends there.

Then they tie Strange up holding back the lake because he would absolutely work over no-stones Thanos.
