I just think it’s dumb to be doing the same story from the game. The game was already basically a very well made interactive movie. Seems redundant

Millions of people who watch television every day dont play video games or know anything about the story. Hell, I know gamers who dont know anything about the story because they only play certain types of games.

A significant portion of the people who will end up watching this (if not the majority) have zero familiarity with the game.

I have no idea what this is? Survivors of a plane crash I guess. Two people. Is it their journey back to civilization?

If they frick up the first episode of this I'm going to be so pissed. The first 30 minutes or so of the game get you completely immersed into that world.

That would be me, I know the cover of the game but thats it. Never played The Witcher more than 30 minutes and the Netflix series was an absolute joy, it almost made me play more of the game.

Agreed.

I never played any of the Mario Brothers games, but the movie allowed me to really appreciate the world that the brothers fought their video game battles in.

You absolutely should. It's one of the greatest gaming experiences I've ever had. Incredible story where decisions you make actually matter.

Plus it was fun replaying it after watching the first season because I understood the references they made in the game better to the source material (I never read the books)

This game provides one of the best stories ever told by the medium of video games. A timeless classic everyone can relate to about love, sacrifice, redemption. It poses grand moral questions without a right answer asking the viewer what they’d do in this situation and how much they’d be willing to give up for the greater good. It’s basically a layup to turn into an overnight success. So I expect them to totally frick it up but I hope I’m wrong. Joel and Ellie look designed perfectly.

All in for this series. I always thought about picking up the video game, but never ended up doing it. I used to love the Silent Hill games.

It's a video game about zombies. Good grief.
