I can't explain the joy and excitement my 4-year-old son experienced yesterday for his first trip to the movies.

Wife and I have been holding out taking him to the movies b.c. 90 minutes is a long time for him to stay seated. Nevertheless, he did amazing.

We watched 'Secret Life of Pets 2.' It was very funny. He sat with his kids combo of popcorn, white cherry slush and Skittles up until the last 10 minutes when he started to bounce around.

He was amazed by how large the screen was and how dark the theater got once the movie started. Other families thought it was amusing that he talked to the screen during tense scenes. ha ha! Hopefully he outgrows that.

It's amazing to see the world through a child's eyes.

Mine was Jurassic Park as well and I’m VERY thankful for that.

I still remember my Dad taking me to see Superman the movie when I was a toddler...and we arrived late and all the lights were dimmed (and back then they didn't have track lighting) so we couldn't see anything to find a seat.

So my Dad just sat down in the middle of the aisle and put me on his lap and we watched the entire movie that way. My Dad had grown up reading all the Superman comics as a kid but this was the first foray for me into Superman.

Still one of my favorite movies because of that experience.

2001: A Space Odyssey. I had to have been between 6-8 when they brought it back to the local theater.

Bambi. Don’t remember how old I was, but it was the mid to late 80’s.

My first was Lion King.

My son that turns 4 in July first will be Toy Story 4 this weekend. I absolutely can’t wait. He LOVES Toy Story. Has literally all of the to scale toys and has watched every movie/shirt countless times. He is in the shower right now playing with Duke Kaboom.

Probably the drive in on Airline Hwy to see Survive in 1976. Pretty disturbing for a 10-yr old to watch cannibalism. I do remember those things you would light to ward off the mosquitoes. Pic I think it was called.

Other than that, watching Godzilla double features at the Bon Marche Twin. Parents dropped us off and gave me enough money for a giant dill pickle and a pack of Sprees
