First ever (at least the first that I can recall):
Saw it at the Skyline Drive-In in Tuscaloosa, AL sometime in late November 1963.

My first movie theater experience was Christmas Eve 1991.
I was four. My uncle took my cousins and me to see Hook at the Carmike Plaza 6 in Anniston.

First one I remember was Disney's Robin Hood. Although, my Dad told me about going to see King Kong on the Airbase. I don't remember it. He said I didn't like King Kong's teeth. lol

I was born in '85. My dad was a teacher and took me to see Batman and Ghostbusters 2 the summer 1989. I remember those vividly. We' basically go around the house doing Joker quotes like "where did he get all those wonderful toys".
I have a vague recollection of maybe seeing the Little Mermaid but I am not sure when that was or if it was even in the theater.

For me it was Raiders of the Lost Ark, then E.T.

I'm dating myself, but the first film I remember seeing in the theatre was Song of The South in the mid-late 60's. I was born in the early 60's. Disney used to have a rotation where they would show their classics about every 7 years of so until VCR's came out.
That was a magical film if there ever was one. To bad the PC crowd won't allow a re-release.

Ghostbusters in 1985. I was 5, and the librarian scared the shite out of me.

I grew up on Shaggy Dog, Absent Minded Professor, Son of Flubber... seemed like those Disney films would come around every couple of years.

Herbie the Love Bug at the Broadmoor (1968). Probably saw Snow White & Bambi before that but don't remember it too well.

My primary school was across the street from a small movie theater and we went on monthly field trips all the time from Kindergarten-2nd grade.
First ones I remember seeing were: Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey, We're Back: A Dinosaur Story, Thumbelina, and Lion King.
First movie I remember seeing with my parents was The Flintstones; they were going to take us to see Jurassic Park but were worried we'd have nightmares, which I totally did after watching it at home the next year.

My first movie experience I remember is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It was awesome! I got a stuffed Michaelego From it as well. The third of the series gets pooped on but I enjoyed all three of them.

I’m almost confident this was my first theater experience, and it was one of the greatest animated films of all time: Beauty and the Beast. I was 4 and I vividly remember the opening, Bonjour, and then the end where Gaston and the Beast fight. I instantly loved that movie and still do. It is my favorite non-Pixar Disney film.

2001: A Space Odyssey. I had to have been between 6-8 when they brought it back to the local theater.
I couldn’t imagine a more miserable film to watch for a 6 year old. Really, I couldn’t appreciate that film until I was at least 16.

I was 5 and my dad wanted to see terminator 2 and he took me to see it. Some parts I was scared but I will always remember my first movie as a kid was rated R lol

Smokey and the bandit at a drive in. Saw Raider of the Lost Ark at a drive in also. First movie I remember seeing at a normal movie theater was Return of the Jedi.

I was 7. It was an amazing experience for a kid. There was no realistic space sci-fi before this. The space race was in full effect and we were about to put a man on the moon. The aliens and the Star Child aside, this was a valid look at where we could be in three decades. My parents and their friends didn't really understand it. My dad's best friend insisted that the aliens/obelisks were stand-ins for God. At that point it wasn't about "getting it", it was more about experiencing it.
Personally, I didn't truly get it until I read Clarke's novelization that he wrote during the production of the film.
