Dude, its not that big of a deal. Its a black dwarf. The show is going to be %90 white people, its not going to hurt anything to have some black dwarves. Especially since its a new character, it's not like they are making Durin black.
Im as big of a Tolkien fan as anybody, i'm more worried about the actual plot, not that some dwarves are black.

Idk why they don't do this with D&D. It's more popular than ever. The lore is extremely loose while Tolkien's is very rigid.
D&D you could do like American Horror story. Different plot every season. Could have as many races, religions, sexual orientations etc. and it would work because it fits the D&D universe.
Meanwhile they launched a D&D cartoon that all the heroes are lily white. Makes zero sense.

It was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Just because Tolkien didn’t know about it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

Because Tolkien based the dwarves on Nordic myths and Germanic folklore. You have to have evidence there is some basis outside of that framework, which you do not. As the late great Christopher Hitchens once said:

...You do realize you're the one that brought up the racial strife right?
I wasn't saying or implying anything of the sort. You brought it up for some reason because you wanted me to offer some more fan fiction on the race relations between dwarves just because I don't have an issue with a black dwarf existing.

I didn’t start it this time.
It’s just the “How can you disprove something that they haven’t explicitly didn’t happen?” really grinds my gears, since it is unprovable outside of common sense. So I should ask him where is the proof that that did happen, and he’s got nothing. So he’s asserting things that happened based on some fan fiction based on no evidence at all.
