Finally watching GoT, how would you rank S2

Just about done with season 2 I liked season 1 but just not feeling like season 2 is anything special.
Hope it gets better. So far it’s a good show, but not great.

Battle of the Blackwater is a top 5 episode, rest of the season is very meh

I think S2 of GoT and S2 of the Wire are very similar IMO
Both were good but didn’t blow me away. I’ve gone back and rewatched both and I view them much higher upon second viewing

Could've been better if they had done 10 episodes instead of condensing to 7, but Field of Fire and Beyond the Wall alone make season 7 great.

Honestly, looking back, it is my third favorite season behind the 1st and 6th. Blackwater is still the best episode IMO. Arya and Tywin was great. Joffrey going nuts at the Capitol is fantastic. Tyrion being Hand of the King and swindling everyone. Theon taking over Winterfell and then failing miserably at ruling. Stannis is introduced.
The only part I didn't care for all that much was Robb's story and the mostly lack of Jaime. Other than that though, basically a perfect season.
