I missed the entire series when it ran. After Oppenheimer and Cillian Murphy being so good, I decided to check it out.

One of the best series I’ve ever seen. 36 episodes of perfection, in my opinion.

How is it rated on this board? I’ve missed any discussion of it.

I loved it.
I thought it bogged a bit toward the end but the finish was fantastic.

I absolutely disliked the last season, but the rest was perfect IMO. Still very very enjoyable. Cillian Murphy knows what he's doing.

By the last season, I was so invested, the change of pace actually worked for me. I thought it was perfect. It wouldn’t have worked as well in season 3.

Same. It felt unfinished.

It was unfinished. They are going to finish it with a movie instead of Season 7. That was by design. It was supposed to come out in 2024 but has been delayed with all the strikes.

First few seasons are perfection. The last couple seasons slow down with all the political/Fascist stuff. I give them a pass on most the last season though. I read it had to be rewritten on the fly after the death of the actress who played Polly.

Tried to watch it but I could not understand a word they were saying.

One show that's unquestionably better with subtitles on.

One of my favorites. I've probably rewatched as many times as I've watched Deadwood.

I started it, but the modern music really distracted me from everything. Did anyone else have that initial issue? Did it fade for you?

Unless you regularly watch a lot of British stuff with heavy accents, subtitles is a necessity for Arthur and Alfie.

Started so strong, but faded. I never finished.

Just got to be one long, slow-motion music video with sparks, smoke, and fire every episode.

Incredible show. My only issue (which is an issue with TONS of good shows) is that after the 3rd or so season it starts to feel like a loop.

1) Everything is going good.
2) An enemy emerges.
3) The enemy almost destroys the family.
4) At the last minute Tommy comes up with a brilliant plan and wins the conflict.

But this is a minor issue that is probably exacerbated by binge watching. The show has good writing, good character development, great acting, great aesthetic and is entertaining as hell. Just an all around great show.

Yes, that was the formula in seasons 1-5, which is why I was glad they altered it a bit for season 6. It was getting a bit repetitive. But, it was still great.

Really thought it was brilliant.

Most shows are like this.

Look at sopranos. Old friend or mobster never discussed before shows up, he’s very important to Tony, doesn’t work out, he has to be dealt with.

Same. I felt like the mid-late seasons got really slow. But I picked it back up one long weekend and I loved the way it ends.

It's a fantastic show. Alfie Solomons is one of the best supporting characters on TV.

Because of your post I will give it a try...I have been looking for something new. Watched the first Season of Billions and I am not inclined to watch Season 2.

So Peaky Blinders it will be.
