I love this one. It always seemed like a cool life, kind of like Duck Tales or the Rescue Rangers.

As others have said. I’ve watched this one at least 5 times.

It has it's fair share of warts but I really like his cop movie McQ. Maybe it's just be b/c I think it's nice to see JW in something that isn't a Western or war movie but there is something about it that made it stick with me.

I'm glad someone mentioned "War Wagon". That was my favorite as a kid. Hadn't talked about that movie in over 30 years and I just talked about it last week. Must be synchronicity.

Wayne and Douglas and Keenan Wynne and Howard Keele as an Indian and a small part from Bruce Dern. How can you not love it? It's maybe my favorite western ever made.

I think Douglas is one of the absolute very few stars who could ever hold their own agianst Wayne's presence on the screen.

He wasn't near as big, but his personality and charisma were equals. Mitchum is maybe a close 2nd.

Great movie. Kirk Douglas was an arse in that one.

The Shootist is a good one.

It was fun to see Wayne sometimes step out of the western/war genre in films like Hatari. It was also a very bad decision sometimes in films like The Conquerer.

I actually think he could have done a good dark gritty 70s cop movie if he wanted. There's McQ but it's not on the level as Dirty Harry and The French Connection, etc.

A decent movie starring the Duke I don't believe has been mentioned and which I watched on Amazon Prime a few weeks ago:
