Was it supposed to be a comedy?

It did keep me entertained for 2 hours, mostly laughing. Characters were entertaining, but it's completely implauusible of anything you might see in F1 or motorsports in general.

Yeah, throw out any expectations for realism and just enjoy the ride

The problem with the movie is that there's no antagonist. It would naturally be the young kid, but since Lewis Hamilton was a producer, they had to make the young kid sympathetic. The actor does a nice job with the part, but structurally, the movie has no villain.

It's just Days of Thunder but F1 instead of Nascar. And that's not a bad thing. Days of THunder is a fun movie and F1 was too.

Though it really needs to be seen on the big screen. The racing scenes were great on the big screen. Haven't had much desire to rewatch it at home because it wouldn't be as good.

My biggest problem with the movie is how they performed well in races due to technicalities and sketchy behavior instead of being the fastest on the track. I don’t watch F1 so maybe that is how it is in real life.

No my biggest ick for the movie was unrealistic strategies. I would think like me most F1 fans were rolling their eyes at certain on track scenarios.

I've never watched a car race of any kind, but when the plot depended on a driver rigging the system and finding loopholes, I figured this fun film relied on some fantasy.

I do enjoy racing history and documentaries, so I know guys like Smokey Yunick (who "cheated" within the rules) did exist, so it's not total fantasy to have a character like Pitt's.

Sonny Hayes would have received multiple lifetime bans from the FIA for the “strategies” he employed.

Fun movie, and awesome to watch in a theater, but it’s more akin to Mighty Ducks than a serious sports movie.

It was a fun watch. Thought it was decently acted. But I also went in knowing it wasn't "real" in that regard.

I thought Rush was a better F1 movie. Almost always watch it when it comes back on.

Looked like a popcorn flick and little more. I haven't followed F1 closely since my boy Michael Schumacher was tearing it all up.

Yeah but his role is pretty small. I think the reveal is in the third act and he barely has any screen time as a villain. Compare to Josh Lucas in Ford v. Ferrari.
