The overall story of the prequels was just fine

The choice to make Anakin a child, and then throw in the concept that at the age of 8 he was "too old" to begin Jedi training, ends up making the Jedi order out to be a bunch of morons.

The story of Star Wars in 3 parts:

Episodes 1-3: An 8 year old is too old to start Jedi training, this is risky.

Episodes 4-6: Just kidding, an adult can pick this up just fine, they just need a swampy getaway with the right instructor

Episodes 7-9: Just kidding again, this doesn't really require any training whatsoever.

The Jedi dwindled themselves out of existence by only targeting infants for training, Soviet style. Then in the decade or so between Anakin being a Jedi and Anakin turning to the dark side, they didn't take the opportunity to find more force sensitive older kids and build up a force that could withstand Order 66.

These movies were dog shite. Disney completely fricking up the franchise doesn’t mean they weren’t as bad as we knew they were.

Liam Neeson
Ewan McGregor
Natalie Portman
Sam L J
Ian Mcdirmid

The are great actors. Not good. GREAT

And they couldn’t polish the turd that was this series.

Portman wasn't "awful" but the lines she was given? Yeesh

I mean we know Natalie Portman is a good actor. So are Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor.

George Lucas is an amazing filmmaker when he has people surrounding him that can give him limits.

Yeah but the lord of the rings came out at the same time and used just as much cgi...

Did it? I thought they had a lot of props.
Yeah, I thought LOTR was predominantly live, with creative camera usage to 'shrink' the hobbits and Gimli.

Gollum was CGI, mo-cap which worked out ok. The Dead were CGI, which I thought was awful. The Balrog was CGI as I remember, and it was great. A good bit of the battle of Minas Tirith was CGI overlaid on live. Almost all the rest was live, props and makeup.

She wasn’t playing one of the most iconic film characters in movie history, so there’s a bit of a different perspective there
