Anyone else realize we're almost a far from the release of Episode I (May 1999 - 21.5 years) as Episode I was from the original (May 1977 - 22 years).

Crazy. But the evolution of special effects has been ridiculous. I still appreciate the practical effects from the originals over the prequal trilogy.

The only thing that didnt make sense was how Padme fell in love with Anakin. The rest was just political conspiracy. Humble Senator turns out to be a ruthless dictator.

Anakin’s fall was far too rushed.

I always see people say this, and it’s bullshite. She was awful in the prequels, no question. And it wasn’t solely due to the dialogue. Yes it was bad, but good lord so was she.

this. Some of the shittiest parts had nothing to do with dialogue or FX.

You forgot in the first movie that for some reason a trade federation wants to block trade, and for some reason the republic sends two Jedis to talk it out as if Jedi knights are experts in trade taxes. Qwygon Jinn or whatever the hell his name is making horrible decisions throughout the entire movie despite being the “wise Jedi”, the complete obliviousness of the entire Jedi council and senate not being able to tell that Palpetine is evil despite him having an evil voice in the 3rd movie and a dark cloak and a puffy grotesque monster face, Anakins complete retardation in getting tricked by Palpetine despite him always saying weird sketchy shite about Sith Lords, I mean I can go on and on. The script was a rushed sloppy mess.

Watch the red letter media videos on YouTube if you want to see how retarded you sound by sticking up for the writing in those movies

It all would be fine if Jar Jar was revealed to be a Sith Lord.

There’s only so much you can do with gems like “Anakin, you’re breaking my heart!!”

The Trade Federation never wanted to blockade trade. That was merely the excuse they used to bring battleships to Naboo. The plan from the very beginning was to invade the planet to create a crisis that would eventually force a vote to make Palpatine the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic.

I'd be all for Filoni and Favreau remaking the prequels. He understands Anakin better for than Lucas

Thats not why Viceroy Gunray was really doing that. It was just a ploy for Palpatine to seed distrust in the way the current Chancellor was handling things.

Like what, exactly? He played things pretty loose compared to Mace Windu or Obi Wan. But that was the point, he’s not following strict narrow way of thinking.

quote:

He plainly explains the deformation as a result of being attacked by Jedi. And in a chamber of countless “grotesque” alien species, I doubt they were judging him for that.

The Jedi were oblivious, but they were distracted by the war. The Dark Side clouded their judgement. But they suspected things in ROTS, since they had Anakin spy on Palpatine.

Anakins complete retardation in getting tricked by Palpetine despite him always saying weird sketchy shite about Sith Lords, I mean I can go on and on.

His flaw is that he’s too concerned to save Padme. Palpatine is simply telling him a story. Its painfully obvious to us.

Yep. But the story and plot isn’t that complicated. Its just butchered by the script.

The shite they talked about in jest seemed more interesting..

ANAKIN: All right. But you owe me and not for saving your skin for the tenth time..
OBI-WAN: Ninth time. that business on Cato Neimoidia doesn't count.

Id rather have seen the business on Cato Neimoidia

I watched those videos when they originally came out. And while they're hilarious and bring up solid points regarding the major flaws of the prequel trilogy, they can also be quite nit-picky.

The blame for the incredibly poor quality of the prequels lies solely with Lucas.

We know - for a fact - that Portman can act. We've seen her do it, over and over. She's no better than the kid or that awful actor that played him "sort of" grown up in the later chapters.

Did you mean prequels? If so, no doubt. Lucas was the writer, director, and executive producer on all three films. Though I feel like Revenge of the Sith gets too much hate. I feel like that film was actually a solid entry in the Saga and better than any of the sequel films made by Disney.

And even he wasn’t great. None of the actors came out looking good. No reason to single out Portman.

Obviously. Sorry for any confusion. I haven't watched a frame of the "sequels" or anything after:

I tend to agree with your sentiment - Ewan came out looking "best" in the prequels, but hardly great. Neeson and Portman have legitimate acting credentials and looked awful - as did most of the rest of the case in all 3 prequels.

the part that kills me in the story is palpatine is a sith, the jedis can all sense darkness and evil and palpatine shouid have an aura as black as night around him. but no jedi says hey I got a really bad force vibe around palpatine, anybody else feel that guy is off or is it just me?
