I'm still so confused about the show's view on faith/christianity. Sometimes they're making fun of it, sometimes it seems like they're trying to push it...in a show that's as far away from Christianity as possible.

I didn’t know what to think about it either. 3 seasons of just disgusting behavior by just about every character and they end it with a former Muslim praying in a Christian household with the American flag blowing in the breeze.

edit: autocorrect needed correcting

No doubt. Was just an interesting way to end it

That was so bad …. A perfectly terrible ending to a garbage season.

I disagree. I thoroughly enjoyed the finale and the season as a whole actually. Season 3 felt like a PTA/Coen BRO/Tarantino knockoff tv series. I can think of a lot of things worse than a Coen Bros imitation.

The Ali showdown was great. I am glad they did not let all these murderers get away without some repercussions. As someone who has lost a close family member to fentanyl poisoning, seeing Laurie hanging herself and Alamo getting blasted made me smile. They were great characters but glad the show didn't end with the drug dealers being the good guys.

The season was basically a white hats vs black hats western and the final scene sent the show off like I was watching an old western. It's not really how I pictured it ending but I liked it.

Good finale.

Did Alamo’s bodyguard know Ali? Maybe from the meetings? Wondering I missed something.

No I think it was more of just Bishop decided to give Maddie a little grace that she asked for. Maddie seemed to be the only person he had a soft spot for and that was kind of his way of rescuing her from Alamo. And Alamo was trying to cheat at the draw so F him anyway.

I knew Rue was going to OD at some point but deep down I was kind of wishing she would make it out. But certainly a more realistic ending with her OD'ing unfortunately.

Not everything Levinson did on this show worked, but I'll hand it to him, he wasn't afraid to take risks, and there were parts of Euphoria that were pure genius.

I also enjoyed the love letters to classic Hollywood, TV, and cinema.

Not many shows could completely flip the script visually between seasons and still make a watchable product. Westworld tried going from western to sci-fi and completely blew it.

That series has turned brutal and trashier… the “visuals are sometimes nice, but…

Bishop was always waiting for the right time to turn on Alamo. In the snake story he was the snake. Bidding his time to strike.

I liked the finale well enough but my biggest complaint overall is how many storylines were just tossed aside over all three seasons

Remember when Nate loved Jules bc he was affected by his dad’s videos? I get that there were personal issues & a dying actor, but damn I think it’s weird they just dropped that

I think it was a situation where in order to get all the now big name actors back, Levinson had to make story sacrifices and keep everyone happy. I'm sure he thought it was better to have everyone back and write around the personal issues than not have a season 3 at all.

As far as the open-ended story threads, I got the sense this season that it was originally written to continue on, and at some point they decided to make this the final season. Then they had to edit the existing script to close some of the bigger storylines. The Rue and Alamo deaths definitely seemed rushed.

That storyline has been dropped/resolved, even at the end of S2. Much less that it's a 5 year time jump showing how they drifted apart as young adults. They let a dying Eric Dane make peace with Jules at the wedding and there was really no need for a committed relationship Nate and a sugar boy Jules to have any continuing love interest.

I think he did about the best he could with a high maintenance class that had actresses that clearly wouldn't even be open to doing a scene together.

I think he has stated dating back to season 1 that he has written each season where it could be concluded with that story. Think it was pretty clear for a while this was for sure going to be the last season so I doubt there were many script changes or rushes. It was over 4 years in between seasons, I think he had plenty of time to figure out what he wanted to do.

Kitty got a BBL. LOL. Good finale, not great. Alamo tried to cheat & got got. Maddie actually treated Bishop with respect. Previous poster was right. He was the python waiting on his time.

Thought it was sad when Ali dreamed he woke up to a new day with Rue but in reality she was dead on the couch.

Was wild after the show when the actor who played Alamo Brown spoke with a proper British accent.

Fez dying didn't help either. His character oddly grounded the show because he was the most spot on pillhead drug dealer. If you were around people who enjoyed xanax/oxy in the 2010s, you ran across a guy that looked exactly like that.

I would argue that Nate being a deeply closest trans lover was not exactly resolved

It very much was. That storyline ended when he gave the tapes back and got with Cassie and then later had his dad arrested. That was never going to be a continuing storyline between those two characters in a 5 year time jump.
