The movie's climax took place in a fricking SALT MINE.

A thing I noticed on my second watch. Luke does not stir up the salt like Kylo in their fight. Pretty cool detail to show he is not really there.

The fact that Jedi mindtricks work on droids is ridiculous.

Hmmmm. Maybe I missed it twice but I thought everyone could see him. Pretty sure there was a number of head jerks when he walked in.

Yeah but let’s say he was really there, would it have been less stupid all those walkers could unload on him and he lived?

The stupid 90s dust the shoulder gag and matrix moves were awful too

How about not including him in the climax and showing him cave in the walls from afar as Kylo led in an assault team? Or just trapped Kylo and everyone in there leaving his fate unresolved...god dammit

Luke is a character within Rey’s story. Once she leaves, that should be the end of Luke in the story

Kylo Ren and Darth Vader can stop bullets just by using the Force. Why couldn't Luke do it and redirect towards the AT-ATs?

But he didn’t stop them. They hit him

That would’ve been better

His costume was better suited for Star Trek...from the 1960s

Ummm Poe distinctly said Skywalker was out there buying them time to escape. I'm pretty sure they were all ready to go out and help Luke Skywalker. That meant they saw him.

They could have finished this saga then started a new one. This going forward is a new saga with the droids and Chewbacca.
Luke, Leia and Han were always going to die to end the Saga, but not so cheaply.

Kylo deciding not to shoot the bridge, then having his wingmen do it, was a great scene. Had he seen his mother's lifeless body and pushed her to the door with the force, I would have bought it. Or have him flip out.
Instead it was just glossed over.

The Last Jedi did the same for the the first 7 movies as Trump is doing to Obama's legacy. Both trying to erase history. Like they never existed.

Yeah, there is a problem that Rey (the theoretic protagonist) has almost no role to play in the endgame. She moves some rocks? That’s it? What would have changed if those rocks weren’t there and Rey was just on the Falcon? She has no active role in the endgame. She should have fought Kylo Ren in the caverns and lost to him.

That would also set up for the next set of Trilogy by Rian Johnson to focus on more epics set in the SW universe.

uh, why would anyone trust that Rian could stick close enough to SW lore, to make a believable movie at this point?

I mean Mary Poppins force using? C'mon?

Maybe of the trilogy, sure, but Luke is definitely more of the focus of this movie than Rey.
