Ozark Season 2, Episode 2 got me thinking of this. Dustin Lewis, who plays Terry, a politician who is being blackmailed. If you don't know the part, then I'm not going to spoil it for you because it's pretty bad. Especially for someone that does not have that big of a career and now he's most likely defined by that scene.

I was thinking, especially for c list actors trying to make a start that have to actually absolutely shite roles to make a name for themselves, what are some of the worst or most embarrassing.

I wonder what goes through the head of the actors when they're reading the script for the first time. Like for example, Jason Biggs reading the apple pie scene script for the first time.

I think you underestimate how certifiably insane you have to be to not only give acting a shot, but continue to try it despite constant rejection

fricking a Pie on camera ain’t shite when you have a mental belief that you will be one of the .000001 percent of people who “make it”

I'm not talking about shitty movie roles, I'm talking something you would never want to do in front of another human being.

Think Marcellus Wallace in Pulp Fiction

Guessing it was a tough table read when Benito Martinez realized that his character on The Shield (Capt. Aceveda) was going to be orally raped on camera.

I gotta say, after seeing Cats last week, that it's not really embarrassing for anyone but Jennifer Hudson, and that's just because her character is so much more serious than the rest of them. She's acting like she's in a different movie, which makes sense, since Tom Hooper is one of the biggest frauds in recent film history.

If Cats had been marketed as a silly kids movie with silly songs and dances instead of as a serious awards contender, it would not have been so critically panned or ranked as the 25th worst-rated movie ever on IMDB. To be sure, it is not good, but it is a PG-rated animated musical that operates on kid logic. I think it will find an audience with kids and stoners in the coming years.

For the topic: we've deadened our sense to it by now, but most of Deniro's roles this century would qualify as embarrassing.
