And my god, every time Lex and Lionel are on screen together with their back and forth banter steals the show.

And Erica Durance

Smallville had my biggest 3 crushes on actresses growing up with Durance, Mack, and Kruek

what are you watching it on? DVD? I've been looking for it on different media formats and can't seem to find the first seasons in HD at all.

Hulu does have them.

Finished my rewatch yesterday. My thread from early last month

Really good series and solid finale (although, I get the CGI suit angst).

Got me rabbit-holing Smallville panels at comicons and Kristen Kreuk has been doing them with Welling and Rosenbaum lately (Welling only started doing them last year).

fricking hilarious.

Mack was hot. Shame she went sex cult crazy.

Anyway.

Rosenbaum was easily the best onscreen Lex. Period. Had the look, the demeanor, and the voice. Plus, he’s a comic nerd. Voiced The Flash for JL and JLU. Smallville went to shite when he was no longer the big villain along with Lionel.

Durance is also the best Lois. Actually had toughness. She was badass and hot as hell. An actual military brat. Amy Adams was the fricking worst LL ever. Acting wise and character wise. frick You again, Zach Snyder.

Kristin Kruek though. Goddamn.

Kate Bosworth waves as she flies past Adams for worst.

I do agree that Rosenbaum is the best on screen Luthor ever. I think it really helps that he had a lot of time to develop the role rather than being thrown into a movie first. I wish they had taken the cast and moved them into the DC movie verse and kicked it off. Hell, I remember even liking Allen as Flash too.

Bo Duke as Clark’s father was the best.

Great casting for sure. One of my top 5 all-time series.

For Superman to work, it can’t take itself too seriously.

The podcast with Welling and Rosenbaum is pretty interesting. The craziest part about it was how much they were working, and the fact that the studio wouldn’t even spring for a driver for Welling back and forth to the sets even though he was basically falling asleep at the wheel.

Probably my biggest complaint looking back is how long they drew things out in certain aspects to keep the viewer hooked. First it was “the secret”, then it was Lana, then Lex, then Lois, then it was flying and the suit...they really dangled the carrot well
