Rewatching Smallville

Son got Hulu w/ his Spotify and it has Smallville.
Watched its first run starting with Season 2 (and catching up on Season 1 with reruns).
Rewatching and am into Season 1.
Season 1 certainly lives up to the "freak of the week" reputation, but I never realized it was borderline a horror series.
They really nailed the casting. Everyone is great.

My son and daughter started having flashbacks when they heard the theme song.

Smallville was one of the first shows I binged. I caught on late. Didn’t even realize there was a show based on Clark growing up. I very much enjoyed, especially when they brought in Terrance Stamp, Reeves, and used some of the Williams score. Fortunately for me the local Walmart had most of the seasons in stock at the time.

Yeah, after X-Files, many shows stole the "monster of the week" type filler episodes, Supernatural and Smallville being two very prominent ones.

This and LOST are the two shows I miss the most from the last 20 years.

Clark's black friend tried pushing drugs IRL
And Clark's chicks were freaks in bed IRL

Lots of people from X-Files worked on Smallville.

My wife thought I was joking when I told her about Alison Mack.
I would gladly be Kristen Kruek's sex slave.

Loved the show but it fell off when Rosenbaum left

I bought my wife the 10 season box set 3 christmas' ago and we just finished our rewatch all the way through last week. Top 5 series for me personally. Love it.

Smallville was perfectly casted and got really good. The “no flight, no tights” thing really hampered the character development. By the end, they had squeezed all the juice out of the orange.
Michael Rosenbaum (lex luthor) and Tom welling (Clark Kent) did a podcast together that’s really good.

Started off pretty well as a series..
But it was tough to finish.
Lex and his dad were great.
All of the girls were cute
I think Welling did ok as Clark.
But CW budgets and the "no flights or tights" rule eventually ruined it.
Oh.. and their version of Doomsday was beyond bad

Erica Durance was hands down the hottest Lois ever

Best Lois Lane in any movie/TV show

I've always felt a reboot - if only for a short term - would be extremely successful. I've always had mixed feelings about the way it ended. But bring back Rosie as Lex and Durance as Lois. Landervoodt is still hot as frack and could probably still play Supergirl. That's all you will need.
Make it a limited series and tell one overarching story. Let Clark be Clark (with limited Supes action) but make Welling wear the damn suit (I've seen where he would do it now) and send it off right.
All they pretty much do now are podcast and comic conventions. Hard to believe that Welling is over 40 and Rosenbaum is pushing 50.

He wasn't Superman yet. He was growing up.
That was the whole point of the show. Clark Kent in high school and college.
